I looked at Cricinfo after Rahane got out then checked back 2 minutes later and boy I was not expecting that
-
106 from 18 with 7 wickets left, not too far off the run rate either 🥶

Would it be wise to say that strategically Russian have already lost in that department? The most land they’re going to get are those 4 oblasts. Sad for Ukraine but way below what Putin thought he was going to get. Therefore the PR has already been done.
-
The cynic’s are saying it’s a PR win but not much else. Yes look how terrible it is for Russia that 20km of their border villages have been invaded, but unless Ukraine can really dig in, it’s going to have very little impact on the long term war outcome, other than to make Putin double down. In fact if it goes really wrong, it could hasten their defeat. If God forbid NATO ever goes to war with a Russia or China, trench warfare would be the least of our worries.

about to find out if Rahane was worth it

They picked players who aren’t playing in the hundred.
-
They’d have to move it to somewhere like Edgbaston right? I can’t imagine they’d be able to prep an out ground that quickly.

I’ve been to one game and the actual in ground production is decent and a step up from county cricket. However the format is crap, and all the other issues surrounding it means that it will lose fans eventually rather than gain them -
I didn’t realise the quarter is on Friday and semi on Sunday. What an absolute disgrace two days notice for each.
-
So do Ukraine withdraw back to the border to save their men or dig in and try and slug it out over the winter?
-
Poor attitude is a red herring. Football is brutal in Türkiye, especially for black players.
-
It takes us weeks to complete transfers. This’ll still be ongoing by Friday if it doesn’t fall through.

That Newcastle advert is pure vibes from the music used, the throwback element and everything. I felt nostalgia just watching it. Like others have said, the shirt is nothing special but everything else is remarkable.

I just remember the 2000’s (which incidentally was the era that produced England’s greatest ever test team from 2009-2013). You had your 9 team championship, the t20 cup which was 10 games and the one day league which was played on Sundays except for your floodlit game in the summer holidays. There was also the C&G knockout trophy. Id agree with you that the 10 game championship makes sense. I’d go full on 18 team T20 premier league where you play each other team once but that’ll never happen. Then a one day cup played on Sundays across the season.

That will likely be in the top 6. It would be very hard to not think Burnley are massive favourites for the league -

To be honest I think this clip has been included to get people to watch it. It has to be followed up with some sort of mediation and conversation that repairs that break. If he does genuinely speak like this to everyone then he’ll fail wherever he goes. Footballers these days need dads who make them feel loved and supported, not raging maniacs. -

The two Burnley goals were hilarious. Literally just hoofs and outpacing the defenders. -
Another calm day for Starmer, a half an hour call with the Iranian president trying to talk them out of bombing tel aviv A pointless adventure as the Iranian president has little power and actually the new guy is pretty sound compared to other hardliners and the IRGC

Xi should roll in from the east, would be hilarious

Yep, if we had 8 home one day games like we did in the 90’s, on Sunday’s across the summer, we’d get much bigger crowds. It would be a ritual and consistent. Likewise the t20 games we need to creative. Im reluctant to criticise the club on that, it’s all on the ECB. If they fixed the calendar, counties could easily make more money. If we have to cut back on an overseas player next season to save money then so be it. We have a squad good enough now to overcome that.

Cooper generally had a good record with that sort of player at Forest. Spence and GibbsWhite come to mind

I’ve heard worse ideas but I’m not sure it would work. Leicester and Derby are quite a distance from each other still in English terms
-
Darren’s dad. I don’t know if he still is but he used to be on the board.

That’s on the club to be fair. Today’s gate should’ve been a lot bigger. Sunday, beautiful weather, champions in action. But the crowd was poor. Where was the social media posting about the Tigers/City season ticket discount? Why wasn’t it a tenner entry? Really, really poor. What are tolerable losses for us as a club? I know we’re not the only ones, Gloucestershire lost £1.2m, Glamorgan £500k, Middlesex are in an absolute mess.
