He still put his own money into these projects though and has not been the pawn of the Studios for sometime now . He is a very talented producer and director who does his own thing, Ridley is as talented a director but that seems to be as far as Ridley goes.

From his own pocket, not the studios coffers alone, if thats who i think it is, though i am tired after a hard days work and he is making another movie about the ocean depths out of his own pocket too but you continue trying to be clever .

I know exactly what i'm talking about but if it deviates from your opinion then obviously i do not mr clever clogs Never really watched Lost though, it just never appealed to me and i could not see what all the fuss was about but some poeple loved it and still do, to each their own

The original Alien, Ridley had a massive influence on and got the budget increased, had major influence on the monster etc., This time around he was the director but not the massive influence as in the first movie, i think after the mess that was Alien3 and Waterworld the studios will never let anyone have that kind of control again unfortunately.

Incredible Hulk is on again tonight gone ten, it is the one that leads into the Avengers movie

The movie was o.k. at best but the series was actually very good, why it lasted ten years and spawned two t.v. movies plus five years of Atlantis which could have lasted much longer but for the decision to make Universe. Universe tried to go the BSG route but they messed it up and at present stargate only exists in audio story form, much like DrWho did during the 90s. I think they killed off a couple of main characters for good and some they brought back after they apparently died, one episode i really want to see is Ghost in the machine, season 5 of Atlantis, the final appearance of Dr Elizabeth Weir which i missed unfortunately.

A crew that was made up from poeple who never knew each other but was made up mostly of peeps only interested in the money. The actual starship crew were about right i think, they only left the ship to collect the two left outside and basically knew that if they had to crash the starship into the engineers craft they were dead regardless of what they did. The little capsule with two years supplies was designed for one person and it would be highly doubtful any rescue mission would be sent to reach them in time so they chose the fast easy way out. The geologist and biologist left running around inside the starship , well the biologist was a bit dumb but poeple do dumb stuff in tense situations. The geologist wanted to run away but would not leave the biologist, tough luck there. The original Nostromo crew worked with each other, knew each other and acted in an intelligent manner but they still died because they underestimated the threat and of course the science officer was an andriod and lied to them Just pointing out my take on the crew, if you did not enjoy the movie then i cant argue with differing tastes, some will dislike, others will like

Not so much movies but i have recently ordered the stargate sg1 boxed set that has all 10 seasons and the two t.v. movies plus the stargate atlantis boxed set. I love sci-fi and fantasy stuff and these will sit nicely alongside my B5, DrWho, x-files, buffy and BSG boxed sets Still hoping they make a few more movies set in the stargate franchise.

MINOR SPOILER DO NOT READ FURTHER. Think she was a misdirection, the script was not the best but from what i've read Ridley told her to act aloof, stand in corners and get poeple thinking she might be the villain of the movie and at first i thought she might be another robot until the captain basically asked her that straight out

Read the Sun, only for laughs at work sometimes, i never ever buy the comic myself and yes after experience of dealing with all kinds of poeple whilst working in security i expect anything and everything including the race card. I've had it used against me even when poeple are caught red handed breaking the law and i've seen one girl who beat up another girl, (i had to intervene as it was in my store at the time,) of her same race screaming racism against the police as she was being carried off by four police officers so i am very wary when dealing with poeple who i deem as unreasonable. It happens and it is not very nice and does colour your view when dealing with poeple.

I may be a twat at times but i'm no racist as anyone that knows me will well know. The fact i have experience from working as security and having been called a racist by unreasonable poeple makes me very wary, maybe it colours my judgement when dealing with idiots. By the way, what is your excuse for being a humongous tit.

Why do you assume unreasonable poeple would not if it caused an argument or fight that they started by their actions, it is the only excuse they could use if things kicked off because they certainly are not going to say that they started things by annoying someone by kicking the back of the other persons seat. You were not there or had to put up with this girl constantly kicking the back of my seat for ten to fiftteen minutes for no reason, i expecting to turn around to an idiot boyfriend and was going to warn them but when i saw it was a girl wearing a burkha i decided against it and just gave them a stare which did the trick. I had past experience of poeple crying racism when working as security so know what can happen.

Suppose it does backfire on them though in that they can't repeat those shows bar short term showing, sell them abroad or sell them on DVD or Blueray and merchandise them, one viewing and a repeat is all they get from them. About the only couple of sci-fi shows still made by the BBC sell quite well abroad and the merchandise makes quite a bit of cash too, DrWho and Torchwood. Hell, the BBC are still making a little bit of money from the DVD box set of Blakes7 that comes with a small model of the Liberater and the audio stories.

I decided not to say anything incase they cried racism after they were constantly kicking my seat, not because they definitely would have but i'm not going to give them the opportunity. If they were reasonable poeple i seriously doubt they would have been kicking my seat in the first place. Love the fact that they were being dicks and i kept control but its my neurosis that they might cry racism if things got out of hand. If they had continued i'd have said a few choice words and if they were male i'd have had them outside.

Peace, i was not offended just a bit ammused I thought Fassbender was very good in this by the way, he is obviously very good at being malevolent in a subtle fashion. I got the feeling they studios diluted the story to make sequels which is a shame.

Both barrels, , sorry but i'm not really bothered by your opinion of this movie and i'm too old to get into point by point petty arguing over a sci-fi movie. If you did not like it fair enough but that is just your opinion

Dont be ridiculous, if poeple are being dicks and things kick off they are not going to play fair and say things started because i was being a tool, they will find something to blame the other person for that shows them as the victim. Case in point, when i used to work as a security guard in the nineties one of the excuses some peeps used when caught was racism, even though they were caught red handed breaking the law.

Rubbish on the TV today, might put on a DVD instead, i have enough to watch something different everyday for a year and have recently ordered the Continuim box set for StarGate SG1 that has every episode and both the TV movies
