Yeah maybe, but equally we probably had about a 30% chance of staying up at that point so losing him on the final day would have been a risk. Obviously in hindsight we didn’t play him. I agree re the last part, we clearly thought we could do what we want 3 years ago. I think our change in approach this summer has less about PSR and more about KP removing top as CEO meaning he can no longer make the decisions to prop us up, and therefore we are now working to be self sufficient which we are a million miles away from doing.

Getting rid of the ones who want to escape is exactly what we need though. The transfer window isn’t what’s killing us, the negligence of the clubs ownership is killing us. If we hadn’t have been such a disaster the players we want to keep might have hung around, but they can all see the rudderless ship we have become.
