He’s up there. Claridge is a goal-scoring scuffer, whereas BDR prefers to scuff it for an assist. Two very different types – you can’t compare them. Both masters of the art though!

Wasn’t sure at first after the game against Everton, but I’ve done a complete 180 now. He’s just one of those players you love to watch. His first touch and some of his passing is unreal. A few through balls didn’t come off against Brighton, but the ideas were there, and the execution will come. He has so much craft and guile. Having quality players like him and Facundo in the starting XI is what will hopefully separate us from the bottom three.

Have we ever had a player so good at scuffing their shots? From memory, there were two scuffs at Southampton and the excellent scuff to Vardy at the back post against Brighton. He’ll go down as an all-time great in his field.

He can’t take his foot off the gas now; he needs to put the same effort we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks into every game. He’s set the bar for himself, and anything less is unacceptable. Some player, by the way, when he can be arsed. He was good again today and has been one of our best players over the past month.
