  1. Anyone wanting us to sell Mavididi without having any idea of how much we've got to spend and based on the idea that we should start Monga every game for a season is being beyond stupid, tbqh.
  2. I still don't understand what you mean by "enough" though. There are men's leagues in the world, that are thriving, that are the top league in their country, that have lower average attendances than the WSL. Enough for what? For it to be as big as men's football? It probably never will be but why does that matter? Not enough for what, to exist? I'm not trying to be deliberately argumentative (for once lol) but it's just an odd thing to say?
  3. Define "enough"? Pretty sure it's increasingly becoming more and more profitable, hence the massive influx of interest, advertising, attendances, exposure, etc? Nothing happens in football if it isn't making the rich men at the top money and they're lapping it up at the moment. Not sure who needs to hear this still but women's football doesn't need those blokes in the pub. Conversely, there are plenty of women and girls that have never attended a men's football match in their lives but have tuned in to watch the Lionesses or the WSL. They don't have to be appealing to exactly the same audience. I mean it can't have escaped the attention of anyone who has watched even 30 seconds of womens football that the crowds are made up of a much different demographic. Shit, just close your eyes and listen to the cheer - or scream - when a goal is scored.
  4. It's pretty obvious why people are more sensitive about it. Men's football is the biggest sport on the planet, Oasis are one of the biggest bands in the world and sold out their return tour in seconds and Avengers End Game made over a billion dollars in its opening weekend alone. None of those things have ever struggled for relevance or funding and the sneering at them tends to only be your 'contrarians.' You'd have to be Nigel's ostrich to pretend that women's football doesn't have a signifcantly tougher fight for relevance, credibility and legitimacy or that even now a lot of football fans still go out of their way to comment about how shit it is and compare it negatively to the men's game. The situation is getting better, yeah, but lets not pretend the whole country is now completely on board. That's not say there isn't also a lot of hand wringing, white knighting and virtue signalling all over the place with people lining up to appear the most protective of the sport. But still, it probably does need and deserve somewhat more defence than the absolute entertainment powerhouses you're reeling off.
  5. It's ridiculous how much she doesn't start given it's pretty much always Chloe Kelly I swear
  6. Yeah but still. Some awful pens both teams.
  7. Like that. Don't **** around. Whack it.
  8. That was beyond stupid. Til the day I die I will never understand top footballers that try and take wanky penalties. Just ****ing clobber it.
  9. That was very, very Spanish
  10. I mean, she is Spanish.
  11. Chloe Kelluppy?
  12. That's a brilliant cross. What a ball.
  13. England don't have the most technically gifted side but they're well coached, organised in their own way and work extremely hard. They're a good side but you've just compared them to two of the other best teams in world football. Germany have won this tournament more than anyone else and Spain have been a hugely emerging force in the last decade since they started taking the coaching of women's football much more seriously.
  14. If she's fit she's a match winner tbf. Hardly the first coach to start a star player that's not 100% in a final. She clearly hasn't been at the races but you can understand why Wiegman would roll the dice.
  15. Spain really have taken women's football to another level over the last generation. Rest of the world need to catch up a bit. Against anyone else England look phenomenal, this is like watching pros play amateurs. Some of Spain's attacking patterns are terrific. The goal was class.

    Daka

Yeah that's been going so well for Rudkin
  17. I'm not sure I entirely agree with this to be honest. It's too easy a generalisation. There's way too many people on here that are painfully fickle about our players regardless. Plenty of the same people that wanted Chilwell or Thomas to get in the team were the same as the ones calling them shit when they made their first mistakes. It's not just our academy players it applies to. Plenty of the people booing Iheanacho every time he got subbed on were the ones singing He's Magic You Know a year later.
  18. He's certainly the best of our fit defenders, although that isn't saying much.
  19. In a five a side tournament with a no over head height rule?
  20. Yeah possible. But I don't see how else we're making enough money to sign anyone and we're desperate for - at very least - a striker.
  21. Knee jerk reaction is this is pretty awful. But, tbf, he's not going to be first choice is he? It almost certainly means we're selling Mads, which we knew, to make some money for incomings, which we knew, and we get to replace Mads for (more or less) free. And for once we're only offering a one year deal. It's literally just very cheap cover and shows we're putting our faith in Stol which is nice. Not much to moan about. Now lets just get Mads out ASAP so we can start building.
  22. Has he not described himself as a 10?
  23. Ayew still wouldn't skin em.
  24. He's shit because he doesn't score and if he does score he's shit because they don't count because the keeper was just shit.
