Ran a Sunday side for 4 seasons. Got to a few cup finals (lost them all) and came 2nd in the league every season. Really enjoyed it, even when we were scraping 11 lads together at the last minute on Sunday mornings. Then had a season and a half running a senior league team until I couldn’t really commit to it fully anymore. Will be taking my son’s team with another parent next season when they’re old enough to play league games. Looking forward to that. Regarding any tips I think a lot of it depends on how serious the level is. But don’t let anyone take the piss.

For sure. Through the good times and the bad. My love for the club will never dwindle, but more importantly for me it’s mine and my son’s thing. The one thing where it’s just me and him. Where we forget everything for a few hours and be in our happy place and make some unreal memories. He loves it so much and luckily for him right now he’s oblivious to the shit show it currently is. The least amount of effort we’ve put into a game all season. Rocked after two early goals that were also very preventable. A lack of ideas. Resorted to pumping long balls towards two of the biggest centre halves in the league. We are too easy to play against, not physical enough, not clever enough. You can accept the players not being good enough technically. What you cannot accept is not putting it in. They put it in last week and came away with something. This is a game you have to get something from. In fact we are coming away with our worst result and performance of the season.
