Things that you prefer about the championship

It was a joke based solely on last year. -
Things that you prefer about the championship

I quite like this winning thing. -
That's also what I really like about Enzo. Once he gets us promoted, as I've no doubt he will, every player in the top flight, pretty much, is a very very good footballer. So the only difference then comes down to work ethic. Making your own luck. Turning 0-0 draws into crafty 1-0 wins and grabbing that extra goal at the end to turn a draw to a win and a loss to a draw. The fans also get behind a side win/lose or draw that gives 100% and the whole atmosphere changes. We have far too many players last season going at it half arsed. We had the quality ward and CB aside but the work rate wasn't there and we got what the players deserved.

Cracking player at this level.
-
Actually quite impressive in a warped sort of way.
-
Fit he would be a very good shout not sure if he suits the system but worth a look.
-
Agreed. They're one of the richest clubs around at the moment with a great recruitment network that will already be looking at replacements. They don't need to start Horse trading with Chelsea. Just take the full cash and go about their business buying a replacement.
-
Heard he's way better in goal than Ward though
-
You would think so. Its not your usual surplus to requirements player that they can offer to pay 12 lira spread over a year for but get the media all in a hype that they really want the player.
-
He's the only one that we have any hope of getting money for though and it's one of those situations where we either buy in to Maresca and his philosophy, in which case there will be some harsh casualties along the way, or we don't. It's ruthless but best on all parties if he's not going to play that he is fully aware of that fact and gets his agent working overtime on a move away. He's just a round peg in a square hole watched over by someone who doesn't do that. For what it's worth he will probably have a decent career in one of the European leagues. His ceiling is probably higher than the championship but with someone who doesn't play out from the back.
-
He's probably the only GK we can move on and get a decent fee for. Leaving him out was a way to get his agent looking around for takers. It's one of those we either totally trust the system Maresca wants us to play in or not. It seems like we are all in which means there will be some harsh casualties but we have started now so might as well fully back it.

A real candidate for worst signing ever. 12m, a huge amount of wages and with a decent keeper last year instead of him we would have stayed up.
-
At 27 he should be just entering his prime. Hard to believe he's playing for us in the championship when 4 years ago he was starting a Champions League final under Pochettino.
-
Would have been the perfect Hattrick. For someone that had a poor first half imagine what a full 90 mins of him on it will look like.
-
Hopefully we sign someone who is a specialist. We need a CAM and a RW so hopefully one of them can put a good delivery in.
-
Trying not to get carried away after one game but he does look class. Skillful, fast, great change of pace, a goal and assist threat and can hold the ball up too. Very impressive for someone who has just arrived and is only just getting to know his teammates. Now we just need another one like him on the right.
-
Well he did get a bit of a wake up call when he took too long in possession on one of his first counters and got clattered. He probably needed that to show that even though he is too good for this level he still needs to play like it.
-
He should start scoring if we get a number 10 in and a RW . With our only attacking threat coming from wide positions no striker that plays on the shoulder will look good. He's a goalscorer. A prolific goalscorer and that won't have left him at all. He won't need the same pace as the Premier League. He will score for fun this season once he gets going if we just get the remaining players we need through the door. McAteer was decent yesterday but he looked just as we would expect him to look, a very decent prospect but not really ready to be starting yet if we have the right squad. We had nobody in an attacking role through the middle. Vardy has always played best with a Nugent, Okazaki or Maddison playing behind him. It's no surprise he looked isolated, he was.

How many minutes per goal though?

How do People Think We’ll do Next Season
desertfox2 replied to WigstonWanderer's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's one thing being able to attract better players, managers and coaches and another thing entirely us choosing the best. -
He was very late in his career to start earning huge wages. He must have lost quite a lot this year with the legal bills for his missus and the investment in the US football team gone and the money he's made needs to last him a lifetime of living at a very high level. He will probably play for as long as he can get paid big money for.
-
Best player to ever wear the shirt. Even his post couldn't have been worded any better. An absolute legend. I hope he stays and goes out on top after firing plenty of goals for us to get promoted. His story with us can't end like this surely? Financially it's almost impossible to keep him though I guess.

Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
desertfox2 replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
He's Brendan Rodgers minus the experience. No thanks. -
He's been gone since the FA cup final really. Which puts him in our history. The club should have taken the money instead of him staying and running down his contract. Let's face it. If a player is down towards the end of their contract they are hardly going to want to risk serious injury by putting their body on the line and missing out on a huge contract with a massive signing on fee that sets them up for life. Why Rodgers would think it a good idea to make a player in that position captain is beyond me.
