Cooper was a terrible appointment but he was better than RVN. -
That was about the best we could hope for performance wise. Let's hope we can keep on like this in the 2nd half and somehow grab a goal.
-
At least he has to watch this too.

The players really aren't fine. We got relegated with this team AND Barnes, Maddison, Tielemans, Soyuncu plus a younger Vardy. The GK is better but this is a really shite squad and it's ridiculous we are at the end of the window and added nobody apart from a sub RB. Even if we do add anyone in the last few days we have missed winnable games like this. -
Exactly. We got relegated with basically the same side apart from the GK, but we also had a younger Vardy, Maddison, Barnes and Tielemans to name a few. Ihaenacho was probably an upgrade on Daka too. How can anyone at the club possibly think that this current squad will not almost certainly get relegated when it's a worse squad than the one that did? It makes no sense.
-
All three clubs are in a mess though. It's hardly a ringing endorsement.
-
We have a worse side than the one that got relegated. Man for man, apart from the GK, the team that got relegated is way better and that is unforgivable.

If he hadn't been a good player, then he wouldn't have been given the job. It must be so frustrating for managers out there who see big name ex players like RVN, Rooney, Lampard, Stam etc. walk into jobs that they aren't qualified for just because they were decent players. -

That's the worst part. The enjoyment has just been completely sucked out of it. I've never felt like this before but it's as if I can't be bothered to watch us anymore. I never thought it would be possible. -

We paid 25m for Skipp they paid around the same for Smith Rowe. That about sums it up.- 228 replies

Who out of this team gets in the relegation starting 11 even other than the GK?
-
Signing worse players than those they were replacing repeatedly on huge contracts so we couldn't move them on.
-
Having paid 25m for Skipp in the summer in a position that we had far more cover in.
-
I really hope we start negotiating like clubs do with us. If it's a loan put an obligation to buy if they are promoted at a high price. They are likely to accept it as if they have to pay it means they have been promoted. It seems the only way we will get rid of our deadwood.
-
They gave him a 6 year contract too. Let's say he took a 40k pay cut a week to come and play for us again that would be him walking away from almost £11.5m over the duration of the contract he has. Football is a short career and that is a lot of money for anyone. Chelsea have made it almost impossible for anyone to leave with the crazy contracts they have handed out. He may as well see his contract out and go out on loan to play football for the next 5 and a half years. I wouldn't blame him.

Same here. 😆

Desperate times = Desperate measures. Serge Aurier on a free if he's fit?

Almost a cracking assist by JJ to Watkins. Has he bet on us to go down or something? What has happened to him? -

How many points has he cost us already? Why wasn't there a RB lined up on day 1 of the transfer window. -

This version of Soumare can play. He's like a different player. -
Same height as Vestergaard. There must be something in the water in Denmark.
-
Even if we could sign him for 10m less than we sold him for the problem is the wages. They offered him a pay rise to go there so he's not going to leave for less than he's on which is probably around 100k a week. That's the problem Chelsea have with all of the players they are trying to shift. It's the same problem we have, any team that would take players we want to get rid off can't pay them what we are. We can't pay chelsea wages. Chilwell is on around 200k per week apparently. It's insane some of the contracts they handed out and they were long ones.
-
Chelsea aren't going to have a choice but to subsidise wages if Enzo wants to work with a smaller squad which it seems like he does. Chilwell is on around 200k per week apparently and like you say KDH must be on about 100k. Those are just two examples. They have the same problem we have had in that nobody will pay the same wages or more for any player we want to leave.
-
He could be decent in a two but doesn't RVN tend to play one up front with 2 wide players?
-
Bilal and Facundo are way more talented than KDH. I like KDH, he had a great season in the championship, but he is very one footed which will probably stop him becoming a top player and is probably why he can't get a game at Chelsea. We did very well to get 30m for him. On loan he could be a good signing but not to get in front of either Bilal or Facundo.
