Development/Youth Squads 2024/2025 Thread - U18/U21

I would be very surprised if he is straight into the first team At most I think he would be around the same level of Braybrooke and Alves in terms of how close they are to being in match days squads etc. -
For Leicester fans: Michael Golding is a midfielder, best as a No. 8. Coming through at U16s he was touted as the best of his age group, he is a hugely talented player. Tall, lanky, his best attribute is receiving on the turn. He’s excellent in tight spaces, extremely nimble, great ball control, dribbler, one-twos & is a goal threat. Technically he’s top. His long legs mean he can cover ground on the dribble pretty quickly & he uses his arms well to evade pressure. He doesn’t really dictate games & in the build-up phase he’s often less impactful. Profile-wise (not quality!) I’d say he’s most similar to Musiala, but operates slightly deeper. He can play as a 10 but you wouldn’t want him doing LW shifts. He is obviously young though so there’s no guarantees & imo he will need to develop quite a lot physically as he is quite lanky. But he’s a massive talent, captains his country & you should be very excited.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Still get one for the charge for period ending 22/23 Should be fine and not get a 2nd charge and points deduction for period ending 23/24 -
Said it in the other thread but still... I think I much prefer us only having to buy a youth player from them (as long as the transfer fee isn't ridiculous) as it means we don't have to specifically pick one of their older players to buy who would have a higher fee and probably very big wages

Looks like the Michael Golding kid is actually quite highly rated so probably
-
Changed it just as you posted
-
I suppose the overall deal is pretty good if we are (hopefully) only having to sign some young kid from them (hopefully for pretty cheap) rather than signing some other rubbish like Casadei or Broja
-
He wouldn't be going into the first team
-
£30m is probably about right for him (hopefully have a couple of add on clauses in there as well) Just hope we actually get someone decent back from them

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/06/30/chelsea-sign-kiernan-dewsbury-hall-leicester-city/ After being charged in March, Leicester are under some pressure to raise around £40m before the June 30 deadline. Dewsbury-Hall’s sale, and the £10m in compensation banked from Chelsea for Maresca and his six back room staff, will provide the club with a major boost in their attempts to avoid further breaches. -
Who do we want coming our way as part of the deal then? Hopefully not Broja or Casadei

For example Kristiansen still has around £10m value left on our books - if we sold him for £4m it would go down as a £6m loss The same would happen with Daka and Soumare Where as KDH would be all profit as he is home grown Thomas and Iversen would be all profit but that would be wiped out by the losses we make on the others Just getting their wages off the books at the moment wouldn't really help, it is mostly all about the transfer fee and how much profit we can make -

Selling those for £4m each would not help us in anyway really with PSR, where as selling KDH for £25m would -
https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-chelsea-psr-deadline-transfer-9378556 Football finance expert Kieran Maguire told The Athletic: “What you can argue is that it might fall under the definition of an adjusting post-balance sheet event. Under those circumstances, you could say you’ve agreed a sale of player X from one club to another — ‘We’ve broadly agreed the fee, all of the main issues have been dealt with, but there are still a couple of issues outstanding with regards to personal terms’. “The clubs had broadly agreed a fee but were still waiting for the player to sort it out. Therefore you can back-date it to June 30. An adjusting post-balance sheet event is where you’ve got evidence of something that had broadly been agreed before the balance sheet date. You would need to have evidence of that, but it shouldn’t be that difficult.”

You can't get them out unless someone actually wants to buy them For the likes of Soumare, Kristiansen, and Daka it couldn't just be a small fee so we at least get their wages off the books either, we would need an offer for them that at least covers their remaning value (realistically we would need profit to make it worthwhile financially)
