Another sorry example of how modern football is dying through the growing domination of a few mega rich clubs who are able to stockpile all of the best talent. How are we supposed to compete when they’re now even poaching our best 15 year olds, let alone players who’ve played a couple of years in our first team and done well?

I should be fuming at the way at the way we lost that to a last second offside goal but instead my overriding feeling is one of relief as we were heading for a defeat anyway so it just saved us the pain of 30 more minutes of turgid, error-strewn football between 2 awful sides with no confidence - and possibly a shoot out in which it's hard to think of 2, let alone 5, of our players who you would fancy to take a pen under pressure (we don't even have anyone who can take a good corner, FFS!). After 60 minutes our race was run, sadly. RvN again made the wrong subs and Ndidi having to go off left us predictably easy to play through. What a truly miserable season this has been.

Suspect we'll be down well before then at this rate.

Justin was tucked in so narrow in the second half he was playing more as a RCB, leaving Garnacho acres of space or expecting the RW to deal with him instead (or not in the case of their first goal). It must be a tactical instruction from the manager.

Have to say that I'm hugely impressed by Howe. Yes, he's had money to spend, but he's also improved so many players who were looking as bad under Bruce as ours do now eg Murphy, Longstaff, Schär, etc. Last night he showed it is possible to change shape to suit the occasion and be successful, rather than doing the same thing over and over like Ruud has been doing.

Is he surplus to requirements there? If so, has to be worth a gamble.

We will tempt him in with a 3 year deal on £90k per week, no doubt.

I really like FB, but if the manager isn't going to use him (which seems to be the case) then we might as well send him back and use the slot for a CB. If we don't get at least 1 CB, it is pointless playing the rest of the season.

Normally I love to watch any football on TV but after yesterday's debacle I'm really struggling to show an interest in the games today.

It says everything about how bad we really are that we've lost 8-2 to them across 2 games at OT and they've lost 5 home games since then. Dear, oh dear.

Hopefully, we can beat the 0.02xG we managed last time we played them at home! We'll obviously concede at least 4 goals.

Given how lacking in creativity that Everton are in open play, it is hard to think of a worse defensive performance in the PL than today. Before today they had created only 37 big chances in 23 games. By contrast, they created 7 open play big chances, helped by our errors of course, in today's game alone. Unreal.
