  1. So, what kind of team will we have available for the One Day Cup? Budinger Rahane Hill Kimber Handscomb Cox Trevaskis Mike Scriven Wright Salisbury
  2. To be fair to Neesham, his batting played a big part in us winning the 2 games v Notts and Northants.
  3. Indeed. Key issue was being "Samited" twice by Derbyshire, having been well on top in both games.
  4. Shame it's ended like this but a much improved season overall. Was always a long shot to beat these away.
  5. Sounds like he primarily played on the left for Bologna so would give Mav some proper competition, which is a good thing, I think.
  6. I've certainly moaned about him a lot as a tactician but you can't deny that he's a thoroughly decent guy who is an excellent man manager. Being manager of any team for 8 years is a very long time in modern football so now is definitely the right time for a change. As for this tournament, I will never understand his utter refusal to play a system like Spain's, with Rice as the 6 behind Foden and Bellingham as high 8s, and 2 fast wingers (Gordon and Saka) either side of Kane. The lack of genuine width and pace on the left (compounded by having a right footed left back) completely stunted our attacking prowess and allowed teams to focus on stopping Saka on the right. It also meant playing some of our best players out of position ie Foden and Bellingham being asked to drift out wide and Saka being asked to play a weird right wing back role.
  7. A very fair summary. I've complained about him a lot but you have to say he's created a really strong team spirit amongst a previously dispirite team. But he is very lacking tactically against the very best coaches and teams.
  8. Germany and Austria were also very entertaining.
  9. Newcastle or Everton are 2 very different destinations. One is a club on the up chasing Europe, the other a relegation battler with no money playing hoofball.
  10. Would love to sign him. The problem is that we also have Trevaskis.
  11. Absolutely no chance that anybody will pay £15m for Kasey, based on what he has achieved so far.
  12. We hit more 6's than 4's! That can't happen very often! Do think we need to be better at manipulating the ball for 2s and look to pick gaps through the field by playing the ball along the ground more often. Seems like most of the batsmen are programmed to swing as hard as possible to hit 6's. Great if it comes off but too often we are skying it and getting caught on the boundary. Also, when you have hit one 6 at the start of the over and you are chasing 10 per over to win there really is no need to try to hit 2 or 3 more 6's in the over. Just play the percentages!
  13. Yep. No doubt tomorrow we'll be revealing O'Hare and Moder!
  14. Yep, always felt too good to be true and I allowed myself to get carried away against all my better instincts.
  15. So, maybe a 3421 against the strongest teams and then a 4231 in other games?
  16. This sounds incredibly exciting but it does seem like he is primarily a right winger rather than a 10. His heat map is heavily biased towards the righthand side of the pitch, for example. And looking at Frosinone's formations from last season, he almost always played as a RW. Are we certain he could he effective as a 10, assuming that Abdul will start on the right? Would be a lot of money to spend if we're aiming to shoehorn him into a position that he hasn't played much at all from what I can see.
  17. Get in! Big win, this.
  18. Yep. Just see Willey off by working the ball around and then target the other bowlers. Madness.
  19. I said the same thing a few weeks back. Why do we go aerial so much?
  20. Well done, Ben Mike! Not sure why he didn't get to bowl 4 overs. By contrast, Neesham has got figures of 87-2 off the 7 overs he's bowled across 3 games. Awful.
  21. Bowlers getting battered again.
  22. Will be along the lines of Cooper being appointed a matter of hours after it was reported that Potter was about to sign up!
  23. Not going to build up my hopes that this might happen, given the inevitable outcome that it won't. Trincao, Gonzalez and Madueke spring to mind from previous windows....
  24. Neesham is the new Hamish Rutherford.
