  1. So poor defensively, and all over really. It’s going to be a long hard season.
  2. Switch JJ to left back and bring Ricardo in. Kristiansen is poor.
  3. At this point, and with Ayew, are we just a home for Palace cast offs? How far we have fallen. Having said that I’d take him because other than the Vardy I might as well be the next best option.
  4. Surprised they’re doing this for free, but fair play to them
  5. Always produced a solid performance and often a very good one. There for some of the highs and the lows - he’s certainly in that small group who have been a consistent part of recent club history. Ruddy legend!
  6. Ok so £11m+ for a guy who can’t trap a bag of cement - Akinbiyi style!
  7. What was it then? Or reported to be?
  8. I thought this in the pre season games I saw him in. What on earth are they thinking paying £17m (?) for someone like that?
  9. We’re so much weaker than we were at the end of last season. Genuinely at this point wish we’d renewed the likes of Praet and Iheanacho. It’s like we’re preparing for the Championship, or looking to transition but in the wrong direction.
  10. Been wondering whether it’s worth a go, but will watch it now.
  11. Some of the football he got us playing was simply sublime - I recall the Doncaster game at home and Derby away. On par with anything that I’ve ever seen (all relative of course). I was convinced we’d be promoted with him, but wasn’t to be. But it was a hell of a ride, and I think everyone loved having him. What a character and so sad he’s gone.
  12. What a ****ing willy puller. We need men for the trenches, not people who complain at the first sign of gunfire.
  13. It all feels very sticking plaster at the moment - jumping from one strategy to another without any real direction. I guess Cooper was appointed because he wanted the job (perhaps others didn’t) and also he was seen as being more adaptable and pragmatic than Enzo. However, if more pragmatic means playing BDCR and Ayew, and sacrificing coherent and fluid attacking plays that were learnt last season I’m not sure about that. I would have been up for an appointment similar to Palace and Brighton - a young and or progressive European coach who wants to get into English football, or even someone like Danny Rohl.
  14. A striker who commands that sort of fee and wages is beyond what we can do at the moment, and that sort of deal is why we’re in this mess. We can’t afford for a deal like that to not work, and then we’re lumbered with a player on high wages who we can’t move on - sound familiar?! We need to get back to what we used to do, and what Brighton do now - buy and develop potential with resale value.
  15. Not been hugely impressed so far. It’s the sort of level that might scrap a survival, like he did with Forest.
  16. Bit of bluster in the last 15 mins but no quality at all going forward, and not much anywhere else. Skipp looks tidy that’s the only positive from that.
  17. Ayew took ages thinking about how many 0s to add to his blank pay cheque
  18. He’s better than Signin N’Fuka as that is probably the alternative
  19. Is he a leader though? Genuine question as have no idea other than that he a senior pro who’s been around.
  20. I was trying to think along these lines last night in my attempt to rationalise this.
  21. Let’s leave that to our DoF. This deal is ridiculous on so many levels. Wrong profile with no resale value at 33. Piss poor stats. Just ridiculous really.
  22. Haha fair enough.
