  1. Everton are showing advanced signs of needing to freshen something up - like we were with Rodger’s. You can’t afford or not able to bring in 5-6 new faces so you change the manager and hope for a bounce. Dangerous as it suggests the rot is set in. But they can be effective and score goals, but they also ship em as well. Fascinating to see how Cooper approaches this one - will we see any of our creative players in the middle…? 🧐
  2. Maybe bring in Golding as a false 9? 🤣
  3. I think we could. When we were linked with him our squad hadn’t been strengthened hugely. Now we have demonstrated we have potential to stay clear of relegation dogfight imo - but with Cooper in charge that’s what we’ll get.
  4. While the recruitment could have been better, I think now with a bit of hindsight it is decent. Skipp is a very good player imo, Okoli looks good… but he’s not got the balance right and is being too cautious and negative. Wilf did well yesterday, but he’s not that player that can link the midfield to the striker. The omission of Ricardo is outrageous. I know what Ayew brings, but he’s more of player to keep position and use his know how to close out games - we’ve got maybe 3 players I would prefer to start ahead of him. We’ve got a squad with the potential to finish 12-15th in my view, but with his approach it will be lower and competing for the relegation spots. Next week is crucial for the club and for him if he wants to prove many of us wrong.
  5. He was never remotely close to their winger who always had acres of space - all game.
  6. I’m not a conspiracy nut, but how many mistakes has VAR made? And how many mistakes has VAR made the week after the club who gets shafted beat the PL over a points deduction decision and makes them look like a bunch of gurning willy pullers?
  7. And it was so obvious as well
  8. When you say “top job” presumably you mean he works for someone called Top, because currently this is quite clearly not a top job! He’s not walked in to Villa where they are now, or a Liverpool, or even a Newcastle.
  9. Shades of when Ian Holloway started games with 3 or 4 right backs 🤣
  10. This is where I’m at. Understandable against the likes of Spurs and Villa (though I think against Spurs he had more attacking minded players on) but not against a Palace who are in transition. I thought we’d hold out today, but we paid them far too much respect. If we had got players on who could keep possession and play in their half would it have been different?
  11. I thought we’d hold out, but this is Leicester and at least we didn’t lose. Decent result, but there are still question marks about setting up so negatively against the likes of Palace.
  12. A Palace leaning co-comm said he’s dubious and it looked well offside. Wouldn’t it be classic Leicester to go 2 up and go and throw it away!
  13. It looks like a good time to play Palace. I thought they’d be good this season, but they’ve lost a few key players and don’t look like a coherent team firing yet. We look good, other than JJ giving space to their left winger. We look like we’ve got the measure of them, but they can turn it around at home and as it’s us I’m not that confident. But so far so good.
  14. I’m surprised Palace haven’t picked up more points. I expect we’ll lose today, but stranger things have happened… But please please please do not start with 3 defensive midfielders.
  15. So it never rains, but it pours?
  16. He was definitely the “of for **** sake” name on the list when we were looking for a manager. Cooper claims to be a jack of all trades in terms of playing style, but I always thought it was too big a leap away from Enzo’s fairy defined style.
  17. The next month will be very interesting, and now with less reason to be concerned about PSR/FFP I could see a situation where we make a change for someone better.
  18. It looks like Ayew is quite strong in the tackle…
  19. I hope not - 4 or 5 points from this is absolutely essential, and beating Everton is a must.
  20. It’s one of my earliest away game memories and yes pretty sure it lashed it down. I also remember our fans taking the piss out of their keeper, who I think was the Bulgarian from the 94 World Cup.
  21. What book is this?
  22. Superb! Do you remember wearing Kappa poppers as well…? 🤣
  23. Scott Taylor was a good player. Was it this one? Taylor looks to get a goal and assist, but no green or purple in sight.
  24. If we want to get him to contribute, maybe he can do the gardening at Seagrave or pick dog muck up around the KP? Or maybe clean up Big Jannik’s skid marks.
  25. I’m expanding my collection, and I’m deciding between the 95 home or green/purple shirt. One draw to the green/purple one is that I think they only wore it once (Reading away when they had that Bulgarian keeper with the syrup, and I was there)… can anyone confirm it was only worn once?
