  1. Wout was very good in his first few months here. And he looks good again. There’s a good and consistent player there, but he needs to be more consistent.
  2. Yea also really enjoyed the pod. Jake’s analysis of losing our identity is spot on I think. I was trying to make this point, albeit badly, after the game. While I always want us to be the best we can and compete with the best, there is something bizarrely reassuring about being in the position we’re in now. We’re natural underdogs I think. I feel like a kid who’s got his comfort blanket back. I got Verma not long after it was said he started his career here and then game back.
  3. Yes it’s basically this lot, and perhaps the likes of Gerry Taggart? I’ve just scanned the first team squad from last season at Filbert St and the only other possibilities are Andy Impey, Matt Heath and Jordan Stewart - the last 2 were possibly too junior to have had regular football let alone get near the goal. Not sure about Impey though.
  4. Admittedly I’ve only gone back 4 pages, but if Alan Nixon is saying this it’s hardly set in stone.
  5. I have to drive about 3 hours for a home game, and 3 hours back. I got back at 2.30am on Tuesday morning after Spurs after a drop off. I stayed until the end. I don’t often make midweek games unless it’s first game, a big game or a European tie or something. But I have never left early.
  6. Has anyone mentioned Cambiasso against Man U? Or King v West Ham? Both in the great escape season.
  7. All the good ones have been taken, so I’ll go with Mark De Vries last minute to knock Spurs out the cup. And thinking about it, Huth also against Spurs in title season - a game where our goal led a very charmed life and then the sucker punch.
  8. Coady has said he had a good pre season and looked really sharp… funny one.
  9. His last game for us will be very emotional. I for one will be crying my eyes out, but before then I hope we squeeze every last drop out of him. Genuinely would rename the stadium or a stand or something after him (and not a concourse bar)
  10. The fans are going to be needed this season. I thought the atmosphere was great and we need to keep it up.
  11. Just got around to listening on my drive to Leicester for the game tonight. Great listen and captures a lot of what I’ve been thinking. The ‘Who are you’ answer being Brian Deane made me think about players of have scored at both Filbert Street and KP (for us). There can’t be that many…
  12. They have Juan Rudkino in charge of contract negotiations
  13. Enjoyed that. I threw my LCFC scarf on stage once at the end of a gig must have been 15-20 odd years ago now , wore my top, and they and Serge in particular was loving it. He always seems genuine.
  14. Surely we’re best off using this level of resources elsewhere? A first team striker comes to mind?
  15. Strikes me that the key issue here is that we’re going for targets that would have been realistic 3-4 years ago, but aren’t now. Say if a Villa or whoever go in for a player, I think we’re better off targeting the player who will be displaced by the new signing.
  16. Some good developments here - such as locally brewed beer - but not sure if I’m being over critical here, but I would have liked more than 60 seconds of clapping to honour Shakey. For what he did, and the relatively young age he departed, that feels a bit ‘meh’.
  17. Ipswich looked like a lower league team who do ok in the first half against a PL side, and then they really faded. Be interesting to see what we’re like Monday night
  18. The only signing we’re getting any time soon is if they roll out players to sign some of the over priced tat in the shop.
  19. He’s absolutely the pits. No meaningful analysis AT ALL. Just sentimental clap trap. It’s like he’s ignoring the massive decline and reasons for it - that are there for all to see.
  20. I’m not disagreeing with you. I was screaming when Brighton offloaded Pascal Gross for £7m at 33 years old.
  21. I don’t dispute that, but am just saying it’s not just us who are having issues
  22. The level of negativity is understandable imo, but I’m looking down the list of all PL clubs business and not many have recruited either particularly well or got many bodies through the door. Perhaps a lot of clubs are feeling the FFP and PSR pinch.
  23. The level of financial mismanagement that has been ignored by pretty much everyone outside some parts of the fan base is one of the most surprising things. Though I suppose we are not a ‘big’ club and get less attention. What happened to Rudkin and Whelan’s review at the end of last season? Did they think a bit of success on the pitch and people would forget? So disrespectful to the fans. We are treated like fools. They need to go, and Top needs to drastically rethink his trust in these people or else he needs to sell up and let someone else have a go.
  24. I haven’t been on for a few hours - has anything meaningful happened in that time?
