  1. I’d like to hear how ? maybe you can contact de Marco rather than tip off the PL with our strategy
  2. Surely he goes to forest ?
  3. I know nothing but I reckon that enzo woud have asked to speak to Chelsea and been granted permission to have an initial meeting. I also think that given his experience here with the finances, he would have wanted a face to face meeting to ask some searching questions ref finances, other outstanding issues with governance and rumours ref board interference with day to day squad issues. I think he would return back to filbert way and tell our board that he wishes to sign a year’s extension to his current deal (on improved terms - inc increase to compensation clause). (Unless the Chelsea hierarchy are the best poker players in the world).
  4. The internet really is a scary place
  5. You’d be surprised allegri poch conte Low flick Rudi garcia sarri Kovac these are all coaches who have led successful big clubs. Plenty of younger ones out there too.
  6. If maresca wants the job and we stand in his way then we risk losing any compensation because he could simply resign. Coaches are not like players. Their contracts are not protected in the same way via a registration document that the club owns. Based on his reported ‘ release clause’ (which it isn’t in its truest sense), I’m guessing that we have paid him around 40/50k per week and that has increased significantly on promotion. If his deal automatically extends to 2027 then I’d say that wage is up to 60/70k and if it remains 2026 then it could be as high as 90k. chelsea will not willingly stump up the compensation because they simply don’t need to. It’s close season and a delay of a few weeks makes little difference. I’d expect them to try and negotiate that comp down 50%. If we resist too hard and refuse to meet at 75% then I could see enzo resigning and taking up the appointment in a couple weeks time. We lose out. Of course his agent will not want to upset his relationship with the club but enzo will be driven by a desire not to miss out on what is a fantastic opportunity for him. A risk of course but one he can easily mitigate because it’s Chelsea.
  7. We couldn’t offer him the same wages as Chelsea so thankfully I doubt we’d get into Rodgers territory on this one HOWEVER, if the noises from Stamford bridge are correct about directors being a little too involved in the dressing room then I suspect enzo won’t take the job there. But his agent would be sure to use the situation to get him a way better deal here.
  8. Please can we avoid this tin foil hat stuff nonsense ? (Or at least stick it in the tin foil hat conspiracy theory thread ?)
  9. Very predictable At least the weather should be better for the vile disgusting abuse that will be thrown back and forth couldn’t cope with that and cold grey damp November skies ……..
  10. Is there a record for the number of times one club has been turned down by an out of work manager?
  11. I’ve just voted for you as PM make your mind up !
  12. So there’s a chance??
  13. Not true average championship manager salary is decent but below the bigger clubs, you’re not earning more than 250k/annum. Into league 1 and I bet it’s below 100k.
  14. I suppose you can still recognise a crime has been committed - just don’t arrest anyone - brilliant ! and yes is probably the answer to your question
  15. The main problem is that the countries committing the ‘atrocities’ /where they are committed are not signed up to the treaty of rome these warrants are only able to be sought on the basis that the Palestinian authority signed up to the treaty approx ten years ago. Putin can be charged because of events that took place in ukraine. Hamas will argue that the court has no jurisdiction over them because events in Israel are not covered and Gaza is not under the control of the Palestinian authority. accepting the Palestinian authority as a signatory (West Bank and Gaza) when Gaza is not controlled by them is something that is legally tricky. in my opinion, netenyahu and gallant should set out their defence to the ICC ahead of them considering the request for the issue of a warrant. It’s feasible that the court would not actually issue the warrants if it isn’t convinced that there is a strong enough legal case to answer at this time. They could easily say that the complexities of the charges means that they need to be convinced that there is a reasonable chance of the cases being proven before issuing the warrants.
  16. I think that’s an approach that leads to sh1t happening. If you don’t address the ‘little’ things that people see as unjust then things like brexit happen. there is always a way around issues that keeps the majority comfortable with the outcome. Not addressing things gives the impression that you aren’t interested in what the silent majority think. That festers over time. People are generally reasonable and understanding. Of course there are those on the margins who will never be convinced but they will not be sufficient in number to make the difference. To think that it’s just conservatives who find this particular example of sporting unfairness unjust is why we have such bad politics atm. yes it’s a very small thing at a time when lots of big things need addressing but to not find a solution that respects all competitors leads to people feeling ignored by the establishment. I go back to brexit - all the crap over the years about bananas, sausages etc which was ignored as being unworthy of being addressed led to too many people voting for it. anyway, I’m meandering around now and need to shut up 😀
  17. I think a fair few are thinking that the squad he’s going to have next season playing the way he wants to play is not likely to work out well. if he was able to recruit the technical level of players required then he’d be more than fine. Infact, without a points deduction I’d be inclined to see a top half finish but we know we can’t spend to do that and the chances of managing it on frees and unknowns is slim at best. his stock is high now if Chelsea are really interested then he’d be nuts to stay here in preference to having their squad for his tactical plans.
  18. Perhaps kompany would be a good choice for them
  19. Doubt that grealish and madders will surely make the 30 and rashford is one of his ‘go to boys’
  20. Is that just your opinion ? apparently no Henderson or sterling
  21. Who cares ? Should posts about kel now go into the ‘they used to play for us’ thread! (Although technically he remains our player till end June)
  22. I note the EU and usa offered its deepest sympathies and the Un sec council stood for a minutes silence. Diplomatically the UN thing would be tricky to get through but were the public declarations necessary?
  23. The ICC warrants (they aren’t arrest warrants yet) are quite interesting. Israel is not a signatory. Palestine is a signatory. (Despite not being a state). Both netenyahu/ gallant and the Hamas leaders are obviously incredulous. From what I’ve read, the charges against the Israelis are more to do with the collective punishment angle of the denial of basic human rights to the civilian population. (Water, food, electricity) . The charges against Hamas are more related to murder, rape and kidnap. I am thinking that it’s possible the court rejects the Israeli warrants being issued on legal basis. they could also do the same with the Hamas ones on the basis that they shouldn’t be a signatory to the ICC as they aren’t a state. it all looks as much politics as anything else. And the war rolls on. As mentioned earlier, these actions would seem more likely to extend it.
  24. Not a very large selection I’d say you needed more than ten to be at all slightly suspicious
