  1. Might get an entry next year!
  2. Wasn’t there a song last year or the previous year which effectively said ‘Russia pee off’ ? (And the political interpretation of the Israeli entry is down to the individual)
  3. Assuming that instagram aren’t over stating the posts this should be concerning to all of us re our kids
  4. Maybe some of the discrepancies are due to signing on fees/loyalty bonus’ being spread across contracts and paid as ‘salaries’ ??? I mean paying JJ six figures would be astonishing
  5. The Chelsea deal worked for them because of the increase in value in the hotel it was valued at x a few years ago and they sold it for significantly more which goes down as an increase in their income. It was commercially valued at this price. If we paid 85m for seagrave and it’s still worth 85m then if we sell it for 85m then we lose 85m from our fixed assets but gain 85m in cash. I don’t think that makes any difference to our psr situation. We would only benefit if we could sell it for a fair bit more than we paid for it. That’s not happening. At the moment, Chelsea have still not had their hotel sale signed off by the PL
  6. I believe that interest and other costs are deductible from psr after full planning permission is granted I’m not certain if that’s the case in the efl where rules over asset sales etc are different to the epl which may be another reason why we appeared to do nothing this year
  7. Could you confirm this is actual knowledge on your part? in feb ‘22 Ricky signed a four year extension. At that time he was still not playing regularly. it was thought that the club had exploited his injury issues to get him to renew on a reasonable salary (similar to the standard 80k many were earning)
  8. If Hamas made a ceasefire deal that actually agreed to release all the hostages in a timely fashion over the three six week windows (that’s not what was proposed on Monday) then Israel would really have little justification for entering Rafah other than to finish off the last four battalions. If the hostages are all freed (though many will likely be dead), then I don’t think BN can carry his war cabinet with him ref a full on Rafah attack. Hamas will hang onto those hostages (dead or alive) for as long as they possibly can. If they really thought Israel were coming into rafah full on then I suspect they may have to deal. a real ceasefire deal exposes BN and his govt - I’m still of the opinion that Hamas are happier to have a right wing Israeli govt waging war on them than a more pragmatic administration looking to do deals. The Americans need to work this out and try to isolate Hamas militarily because that will do the same with netenyahu’s govt. what they seem to have achieved last couple days is to embolden Hamas.
  9. We don’t sell them bombs now so why would we start in that scenario? (Which is clearly not happening under any circumstances). we issue licences to some exporters who sell ‘military equipment’ but it’s less than 1% of their military imports we could withdraw those licences but I would be asking in what context that equipment was being used before making any decisions
  10. I’m pretty sure that Ricky’s renewal was below 6 figures - I’d guess 75k. (we renewed him as he began to play after his last big injury - he wasn’t in a position to demand too much - we were taking a chance giving him till 2027). and JJ would be on a par with bouba/patson at most. but the majority of ric’s guesses are likely close
  11. Pedantically , the costs of stadium expansion can only be deducted post planning permission being granted
  12. Agree but if we make it look like we absolutely don’t want him here then we devalue him even further.
  13. With braybrooke and alves we could be looking at fielding a whole team of ACL recovered players ……… you’ll never sing that !
  14. We have more pressing places to spend the money
  15. They found some noodles in the keyboard …. (Sorry)
  16. Not completely sure about that we have players to sell who won’t leave because they’re running their contracts down to leave on a free. To argue that we should sell assets to cover the shortfall has to take that into account. I suppose it depends if we really did have offers for players in summer 22 and Jan 23 that we knocked back.
  17. Reining in by whom ?
  18. Trump is no friend of his though he thinks netenyau disrespected him at the last election when he congratulated Biden whilst trump was disputing the outcome. of course trump may be intent on humiliating BN initially before assisting him. Yesterday was another illustration of how Hamas are setting the agenda. The fact that there is now talk of them stopping their armed struggle for good will make BN’s problems even larger. It does offer him a chink of light though because one of the stated war aims is to destroy Hamas to ensure that an oct 7 cannot happen again. If Hamas did ‘lay down their arms’ then I suppose he could argue that they were no longer an existential threat to Israel. and they bombed the Karen shalom ‘aid’ crossing the previous day knowing that this would elicit a response from Isreal on a day when they were going to leak that they would accept a ceasefire. Sinwar is maybe ‘too clever’ and that would concern the Israelis - the lack of any trust is endemic in this. of course note that amongst yesterday’s events were rockets launched into Israel by PIJ who are likely not to be in line with laying down their arms. significant that they did this post the Hamas ‘announcement’. I don’t disagree about hezbollah although Israel is keen to get the 60k residents that are currently displaced from n Israel back to their homes so a continuation of events in the north is not likely to get a positive response from the public.
  19. Can’t wait to find out what the MOD passwords were that China managed to hack through
  20. It’s in the post! no, not yet sorted
  21. I’m sure Liverpool were watching….
  22. Magnificent shame the first team coach and owner couldn’t delay the holiday for 36 hours to be there if I was 15/16 then support like that would mean a lot to me and my parents when it came to deciding where I wanted to ply my trade
  23. Before we start making any judgements, it seems that Hamas have agreed that Israel have to stop fighting, to withdraw completely and to allow unchecked goods to flow into Gaza.with the abolishment of the restrictions that have been in place since Hamas kicked out fatah in 2007. Can anyone see why Israel might not be so keen on such an agreement ? I believe that the wording used in the agreement which reflects permanency is ‘sustained quiet’. That does give netnenyahu a slight out in that he doesn’t have to accept its forever. But the end of the war is the end of netenyahu so it won’t be the right wing govt that moves forward on this anyway
  24. Again Hamas show their adeptness in winning the propaganda war. Israel simply never been anywhere near them since mid October. Israel may have the military ammunition but Hamas’ political nouse and media stuff has been so much better all along. (Especially since they’ve often been working from a less than pleasant subterranean working environment)
  25. Maybe they’ll try and arrange on that timescale
