Wouldn’t a draw be better ? both sides are still in the hunt and a draw takes 1 point out of the equation it could be argued that an Ipswich win is better than a soton win because it takes soton pretty much out of the game

I just assume that they needed to be instructed from the bench to do it (once it was clear that norwich were flooding the middle of the pitch as an actual approach and not just doing it to try and trap us into making a long diagonal pass I think we are very much robotic with our tactics

Would assume that Ricky will be on the bench at millwall to allow him to play the three games in a week when we have soton. We can’t afford for him to break now. perhaps wilf may need either milwall or Plymouth on the bench for the same reason

The cross field passes ( and we did lots of that in the first half of the season) were because they flooded the middle of the pitch and left the wingers one for one. Hence with the ball on one side of the pitch, there is a cross field pass available to the opposite winger. You have to play depending on the tactics of your opponent. I posted this quite early in the MD thread. Winks and Ricky had no space but if that’s the case then there must be room somewhere else. second half they attempted to get a second player closer to the wingers which meant we made more passes in the middle of the pitch. Imo we were just more aggressive and pro active with our movement off the ball which gave the passer an option other than the safe sideways or backwards pass.

We slowed the game down a lot in the second half plenty of opportunities to go forward on a break and we decided to turn back and rather keep the game compact and move it all into the final third

Yes im saying that his income could be seen to cover the missing euro and PL finishing place income so that leaves us in line with the previous year of neg 92m if you take madders in then surely that should deliver a loss nearer 60m ?

Question next season in the PL, the psr rules change to become percentage of turn over does that mean the three year rolling total falls away? Or does the new measure simply deliver a figure calculated a new way and the three year rolling 105m max loss stays in place ?

Which would be £214 m three year running total ( not for psr purposes) if the loss is really that high then I reckon we’ve stuck a fair bit of bad news into last season and maybe even dragged madders into this one. the previous one was comparable and whilst we sold little wes which brought in approx £35m profit, we didn’t have European income and we’re 10 places lower in the league. Hence wes’ profit could be seen to cover the fall off in euro and PL finish income. So where is madders’ £30m profit?
