he doesn’t wade into anything he won’t get involved offensively unless he is forced to by repeated and much larger Iranian attacks that actually leave him no alternative. we have no way of defending akrotiri from ballistic missiles. The Americans have no spare kit to help out. We aren’t allowing them to use akrotiti precisely because it is within range of Iran. the assumption being that they hopefully won’t waste a big weapon on a site that isn’t being used. If the Iranians want to expand this further then presumably they will. they may decide we aren’t that important.

He has a nack of upsetting the largest number of people whatever decision he makes! tbh, if the Americans really needed our bases then maybe he would have conceded. The fact they’ve come back and asked again shows that the continued attacks on the gulf states was probably not on the Americans ‘Iranian defensive playlist’. I assume this is about allowing use of Cyprus because the Americans already have bases in Bahrain and Qatar. EDIT: sky say Diego Garcia and fairford. Diego Garcia is I think suitable for B2 no idea about fairford looks like we don’t want Cyprus used because it’s in range of Iran’s missiles. If the Iranians properly attack Cyprus then they will drag us in offensively. the Americans seem not to want to use their gulf bases because they are easy to be attacked and also draw attacks onto the gulf states.

Sky just had someone analysing the situation she had both US aircraft carriers positioned in eastern med she even referred to them both being there journalistic standards are simply dire

There are plenty out there on the basis of ‘my enemies enemy is my friend’ not in here though

We should have signed Carlton morris. he’s a very basic option but he’s also effective. (Especially at this level).

Understandably, the Ukrainians aren’t the biggest admirers of the Islamic republic.

I’m not a fan of BN but he will be standing for re election in six months time

At the moment, can’t see anyone official from the Iranian regime willing to confirm that the ayatollah is alive. this could because he’s survived the initial attack and they don’t want the Israelis to know this. Or it could be because he didn’t survive. Impossible to have any information about much. In the twelve day war last year, we saw live pictures from Israel of missile strikes and confirmation out of Iran of sites that had been hit. Today has seen a lot more secrecy. Infact the only public declaration from either country is that an elementary school was hit in southern Iran. Again, no way of knowing what struck that building nor who/how many casualties. And tbh, based on what the Iranian regime did to their own people last month, you wouldn’t put anything past them.

You can never have a 100% strike rate But our rate certainly dropped when we needed it to be way better. Not being able to sell either soumare or daka for a decent profit nor get enough productive input from them on the pitch has probably proven to be the proverbial straw. Of course there were plenty of others too just a sh1tshow from top to bottom

Do we share it with the Americans? afaik, the 5th fleet control centre was bombed in Bahrain

Ha yes the president of Iran is pretty impotent I haven’t seen that he’s been targeted perhaps the defence minister and the chief justice of the clergy are two rumours

You’ll need to clarify for me Who is ‘the Iranian’ ?

The announcement last night that Rubio would be in Israel on Monday but there would be no press allowed on the trip so don’t bother to make the usual arrangements was about as clear a sign that an attack was this weekend. Rubio likely has an appointment at his barbers on Monday i wonder if there is still a possibility that this is somewhat ‘staged’ with a limited range of attacks. there is no sign so far of a huge number of targets in the initial phase

30k is the number in hotels, not the number awaiting asylum claim decisions AI says there are 65k cases not yet adjudicated with 50k appeals so that’s approx 115k. Still not a huge number as a proportion of the entire population

With the momentum wolves are building they should be hot favourites to come back ahead of Burnley and AN other -
But, the last time I checked, it was the Anglosphere nations that had the most power to actually cause the pain and misery that nationalism results in, and that perhaps should mean something in terms of level of concern. If other places (like China) get that level of power and look like using it on as broad a scale, they should be equally challenged. I’d say that there are plenty of nationalist countries outside of the anglospheric ones that are causing pain and misery. we’re talking UK, Australia, Canada, NZ, USA as the core - we’ve had our day in the sun some time ago. The USA are doing a sterling job of bringing it back into fashion.

As my gran used to say ‘there’s a lid for every pot’. (she never said that btw) if you’re not in a significant minority then I’m worried People’s politics are their own business. It should be fine to say that you disagree with a party and not be required to justify it. Some of the green’s headline policy statements simply don’t align with the Muslim continuity. if Palestine wasn't the open sore it currently is, I don’t believe that the Muslim vote would be headed there. I think the youth vote is really interesting - be good to see some breakdown of the demographics within the turnout.
-
It would certainly be interesting to find out who is right in 2029 if we retain the current party spread.
-
None of which are likely to affect voting patterns here as much as one single issue currently does. But I’m nervous to say ‘these are strange times’ because the past decade seems to have been ‘unprecedented event’ after ‘unprecedented event’.

Not a seat to make strong judgments on for the GE in 2029 global politics could be anything in three years time - so the global issues prevalent in seats like this now means you can’t just extrapolate the results etc etc good to see reform unable to push through (turnout was low and I wonder if a chunk of their support just cba to vote). still maintain that farage is a protest politician which makes it v tough for him to win at a GE. Applies even more to Polanski. However, the overall message (as made above) is that with more parties, the likelihood of a hung parliament increases.

How are they charging us retrospectively? We broke the rules.

Villa sold their women’s team last season. if they keep qualifying for CL every second season then they may be able to keep the right side with some sales. Tough to do. Could see Rodgers sold end this season.

I think they’ll be careful not to rush him back wales will want him for their play offs so he’ll have more stress in month one than we’d like him to have
