Nobody is paying £50m for any keeper this window. Amd £50m for Winks? I mean...he had a good season but behave.
-
My take is Just because there is a release clause it don't automatically mean they want to pay it all. Its not a case of pay it or dint have him. If he wants to go where does that leave you? It's all about negotiation and there's the staff team involved as well who will need releases. So unfortunately no... its not a simple case of "Just paying the release clause"

Just compo to agree. Probably trying to lower ball us.

Done and dusted. Next....

It's a good move for him. 22 now and needs to start getting first team football. Let's hope his career kicks on. The Minimal fee goes into the coffers and we need every penny i guess. -
Highly doubt you will see VK in City colours ever again.

Brilliant 👏 Just love posters who call things but have no solution. Come back after bedtime.

Erm.... Erm......As far as back tracks go you had an awful attempt there and I'm sorry but you had an epic fail. What You actually said was.... "They get the odd bargain, but that's because we have release clauses in our contracts, that's our own fault".
-
How is it our fault for putting release clauses into players contracts? Any clauses will be insisted upon by the agent/player upon signing the initialcontract or extension. What's the alternative? You refuse and the player don't sign and runs down the contract and leaves for free or if he's a potential new signing refusing to put in a release clause means he just goes and signs for someone else . Release clauses are part and parcel of the majority of deals these days like ut or not so not really sure how you hold the club accountable for that?

I'm telling you. Top is a big fan of Southgate.

Holding a guard of honour for club legend Danny Ward as he is brought on the the last minute V forest when leading 1-0 and we ultimately lose 2-1. Ground gives a standing ovation safe in the knowledge his contract is up . Hours later Rudkin gives him a new 4 year deal. -

I stand by my comment. And I'm not sure how you can lay down rules as to what I can and can't post on a forum if anything it sound like you also are suffering with sour grapes. Anyways... The club may not have handled it correctly but what I do know is he has not showered himself in glory by slagging the club off like that. That will only make it harder for him to get fixed up with another. Not a smart move in my opinion which I am quite entitled to. People are only reading his side when I'm sure there are 2 sides to the story but the club simply won't get involved in tit for tat with a released player. Players are released all the time hes just another one if the many numbers who didn't cut it ultimately. He would be better off getting his head down and working hard to prove people wrong and earn a chance somewhere else not publicly complain in the media about the club who gave him an opportunity and ultimately for whatever reason it didn't go his way. It makes him sound like a cry baby not someone desperate to make it. I hope he gets fixed up and gets another opportunity but I doubt anyone decent now would touch him with a barge pole. Good luck to him but His destiny may be a career in the Irish leagues. -

Mads is not bad. And Danny Ward is a good prospect I hear.
