  1. 62 goals OR assists in almost 20 THOUSAND PL minutes hardly screams quality. Especially from a players who's best days are behind him.
  2. If he aligns with steve cooper philosophy then the problem is the philosophy. He's more proven in th PL than all of them. Yes. Is he as good as them? No, I don't think he is. Thats why I specifically highlighted quality. Jordan Ayew was a mid to low level PL player in his prime which is behind him. Signing him for a few years and paying him PL wages as he gets further and further from that prime makes no sense. If PL experience is so important, should we play Ward over Mads?
  3. We aren't lacking PL experience in our squad. We are lacking PL ability and he doesn't have it.
  4. ....Nah, that was your cat.
  5. I'm sure we considered it but decided to go for Jordan Ayew instead!
  6. So you're pissed about signing a #8 and a winger because we have a #10 and a RB?
  7. Does this thread keep being deleted, then appearing again with everyone commenting like it's new or am I having a stroke?
  8. The fact that he doesn't seem to know what Ayew it is makes me feel slightly better for some reason.
  9. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see them getting any time. Our justice system lacks the backbone to deal with backlash.
  10. And THAT is the problem. Because that officer couldn't control himself, two violent criminals will not only walk free, but get a good payday from it. I'm not saying that keeping your cool in that situation is easy. I'm not saying I could do it but that's why I'm not a copper and neither should this guy be. Police officers have to be held to a higher standard than you or I and even though you can't blame the guy for being emotionally caught up in it, he didn't act to that standard that we rely on to make sure thugs like those two men get put away.
  11. You're assuming a top 6 championship club want him. For all we know, Liverpool's options are us or Plymouth...That's if there is even anything in this.
  12. Because he'll still learn more being a bit part player for us in the PL than a spare part for them and arguably more than being a main part for a championship team.
  13. 15/20 minutes every game or two with the odd start thrown in is FAR more than he'll get at Liverpool. I disagree with that analogy. I'd say we are more like the decent looking geeky girl who once gave a popular boy a handy and got "cool" for a couple of months before returning back to her mates who spend their days sitting down at the skate park.
  14. It looks more like a retaliation for him being knocked on his arse. The officer that done it gets knocked down right before he takers him.
  15. Ah, so you just want Fatawu to play every single minute of football next season? Like you said, we just spent £14m on a player who will likely get the Lions share of minutes in that position. Convincing a young up and coming loan player is to play second fiddle to that player is easier than convincing one of these permanent, committed players to do it. If getting a young player on loan to sit on the bench means we can spend more on improving the starting 11 permanently somewhere else on the pitch then we should be going for it.
  16. You want Alves on the RW?
  17. If we offer enough money, Celtic's board will sell him to us regardless of his tantrum. They don't let anyone's opinion get in the way of making money.
  18. From what I've read, he was a witness to the first incident. Not sure if he's said something to the officer or maybe they knew he filmed it... all just speculation at this point.
  19. I don't think we are ones to talk regarding that.
  20. Well, that's it. He kicked him twice but it only took one to turn an alleged violent criminal into a victim and one who will probably get a nice payday. All because an officer couldn't control himself.
  21. I would imagine that any potential obligation would be dependent on us staying up...
  22. Last season? No. I watched him at the Euros. Yes, he played there and he got into the positions that you would want from a wingback but he showed absolutely no creative flair when he got there. In every game I watched, he almost always turned back and passed it backwards when in an attacking position. I don't recall him causing any danger with crosses either. Now, I realise that the euro games and the ones he's played for us is a small sample size but from what I've seen personally, he would be far more suited to a FB role with a winger in front, not being responsible for almost all creativity on that hole left side. I think 17 assists and 2 goals in 156 games backs that up.
  23. I agree with you but it's not looking likely. Not with rumours of Soule/Reiss Nelson. Best i think we will get is he plays the role he did last night (not quite a winger/not quite a wingback) but on the right. JJ playing a RB/RCB role behind him and a more traditional wingback on the left and Reiss Nelson and Mavididi in those two #10/inside forward roles. But that means no Ricardo, although he could cover several of those positions.
  24. For me, this is 100% a replacement for Soulè. If last night is anything to go by, Soulèwould have played where Mcateer did. Reiss Nelson can play there in that imside forward role beside Mavididi in the 10/St role.
  25. Makes good sense. Ricardo could cover for that Fatawu role too. Although, I don't think VK is a natural WB, I'd have him as back up and get in a starter.
