  1. Two of the teams that were relegated this year would have stayed up in that 2013/14 season. Two of the teams that made the playoffs that year would have missed out last season and Burnley who were promoted automatically with 93 pts that season would have finished third this time around. I think you're suffering from a bout of nostalgia.
  2. When was Dembele switched to CM? He was always a winger up here with Celtic.
  3. Right? I said I thought about him when I was thinking of who the club could go for that would suprise us. I didn't say I was his fvcking BFF or that I wanted him here.
  4. I was actually thinking about OGS when I was considering who a left field appointment could be.
  5. Yeah but it's not like this has come out the blue! We've had a week to sound out candidates... another week to interview and get one in is plenty, I feel.
  6. He took a Swedish 4th division team to the knockout stages of the Europa League, finished 5th in their tip tier and won a cup all in 7 seasons. Say what you wasn't about how it translates to the PL but you can't say it's not impressive.
  7. Take it! Ol' lefty is a dud anyway!
  8. "Perfect grasp of the beauty of the English language" is a bold statement regarding someone who learned English in Glasgow.
  9. "One good season on English football" is a stretch. He took over at Brighton, kept them up for two seasons, setting their PL points tally consecutively, stabilised them then pushed them into mid-table. That's 3 good seasons by the standards he was working at, at the time. I'd be absolutely delighted with a repeat of that here.
  10. The only time I pay any attention to the odds is when they start rapidly shortening on a name with no or few media links that hasn't been mentioned all that much. That means money is being put on someone that no one is talking about publicly and that makes me question who is putting the money on it and why. But apart from that, I agree with you. Odds don't usually mean much.
  11. It's cute that he thinks he'll get a game at the Euro's!
  12. Elland Rd OBVIOUSLY!!
  13. I wouldn't be so sure mate... this is eerily similair to were I was in life back then. I won't go into too much detail as we're already looking at the prospect of Cooper at the KP so i don't want to make it worse but during THAT season I was in a very bad place and had mentaly checked out but as silly as it sounds, didn't want to miss what happened each weekend so held off week after week. Not long after that, I met my now wife, have a daughter and two step kids and life is good.... well apart from the aforementioned Steve Cooper situation.
  14. Because it easier to be pleasantly surprised than to have your heart broken by John fvcking Rudkin and his sh!te mates.
  15. Why wouldn't we be a stepping stone for an experienced PL manager too? If a bigger and better team come in, the manager will generally go regardless of were they've managed before.
  16. ...but alternatively, we can now go and get Cooper who looks like he'd sit next to you on the bus even though all the other seats are available!
  17. I'm sure everyone at the club will be shocked by this sudden news. Not least, Top and Rudkin who may now begin to consider the possibility of potentially starting to commence thinking about the process of preparing to look for a replacement.
  18. He didn't sulk as far as we can tell, he left because we didn't play a role he thought was suited to him and yes his performance dropped last season but so did everyone's. Are you questioning Vardy's character?
  19. Demanding a higher quality of performance from the players around him when they are contributing to the team slipping into relegation is hardly acting like the manager. It's showing character and a winning mentality. I'd much prefer that in my team than a group of players who are to busy planning their night out to the darts.
  20. I'm not sure i understand the negativity around him... Young player, moved abroad to a much higher standard of league. I feel he done well for a game or two then there were reported issues with a particular group within the squad and his performances dropped in a team full of players who's performance at the time was gash. He then was asked to play a position he wasn't comfortable with under Maresca, declined and made the right call by going out on loan, doing well and increasing his stock again. The truth is, we don't know if he can be succesful here as we've never given him the circumstances to be succesful.
  21. I'm surprised that there hasn't been more links to Carrick. Seems right up our owners street. Young, promising, possession football, decent sized name.
  22. Lol... and he ended up with Portugal whilst you get Poland!
  23. Big Cags and Yunus!!

  25. We've worked so hard to build a reputation of being a half decent team but now that we get the chance to show it, a few bad injuries and a complete lack of a good striker is going to see us struggle to give a good account of ourselves.
