  1. I wouldn't be too upset with that situation... Think about it. We aren't in a great place. There is so much uncertainty with the points deduction, our finances, who's going to leave etc... If he comes in and does well enough that Utd come for him at Christmas, then we are undoubtedly going to be in a better place. We will know what's happening with our punishment. We will know what kind of squad we have to work with and if Utd are taking him then we will likely be in in a good league position. That will make us a more attractive proposition and give us even more compo from a manager.
  2. To all the people who have concluded that he doesn't want to be here because he's taking his time in deciding, just remember we almost had to sign James fvcking McCarthur in order to convince Cambiasso to sign for us.
  3. Like I said.... we would be lucky! 2 draws is doable if improbable.
  4. I think a lot of people are overlooking Portugal. I have it as a ross up between them and France in the final.
  5. Agreed. Immediately following the qualification, I was definately optimistic for a decent showing but how we've looked since and the rotten run of injuries... I think we'll be lucky to finish the group on 2 points.
  6. He won't even see that reply! That phone is done for tonight!
  7. We should rename the thread Game of thrones because everyone is going to be left disappointed.
  8. Posh spice.... The Posh....Peterborough...Managed by Darren Ferguson, son of Alex Ferguson who coached the husband of....VICTORIA BECKHAM!! Dear lord, it's Darren fvcking Ferguson, isn't it??!!
  9. I was thinking the same... Best I could come up with is Fatawu as RWB and potentially Mavididi as striker buy neither is really ideal and we'll lose dangerous parts of their play.
  10. I couldn't care less what our new managers preference is... as long as he's not married to it and realises that there is a time and place for both.
  11. People really need to manage their expectations on who we can attract. Let's look at where we are... A favourite for relegation. One of the weakest squads in the league. Possibly heavy restrictions on how much we can spend. Looking at least one points deduction for FFP. Possibly another for not submitting finances in time and potential punishment if we faulted last season. Run by a gaggle of idiots. We all would like an exciting up and coming manager who plays great football and can improve but there aren't many of them who would be attracted to our current position. It's also a risk. We took one last year with a manager in this mould and it worked out but we had a bit more room to do so as Enzo was coming in to the strongest squad in the league. The fact is, we CAN'T be turning our nose up to people like Cooper, Potter or Moyes as they are the options on par with the position we are in, sadly. Realistically, we need a manager to come in, keep us up for a few seasons whilst building foundations for a team that can kick on but do it on a budget whilst we steady the ship financially. The next manager after that will be the one to hopefully push on and take advantage of what this one needs to do.
  12. He resigned our best ever player and only current striker that can score goals anywhere near consistently because we are going to struggle to replace him with anyone better due to the sh!tshow that he has contributed to in terms of our finances! I'll start organising his fvcking parade shall I?!
  13. I said this a few days ago. If signings are going to be limited and the new manager wants to play to our squads strength, he simply NEEDS to play deep. Vesty, Faes, Coady, Souttar.... none of them will really benefit from a high line.
  14. Mate, I'm Scottish, if I text like I spoke you would think that I dropped my phone...
  15. If the club cared about what the fans thought, Rodgers would have went about a year before he did and Rudkin would have been stuffed in his boot. They don't put enough stock into what we think to let it influence major business decisions.
  16. They clearly never had any intention of signing him for that fee. Their season went as well as they could ever have hoped and he played a decent part of that. If they don't want to pay that even now then they never where. Is there a time limit on their option? I don't want them to have him so I don't want them to trigger the fee in the case of him having a great Euros.
  17. When we were in the second tier of English football...
  18. We are not in the same position as Brighton. We can not be gambling on a coach that's only ever managed in the second tier of German football.
  19. Lewis Morgan. Added to the squad now too. Makes a bit more sense. We don't play wingers but we have an option for each side if we need it. He is in good form in the MLS too.
  20. I'm not convinced by his record which is all I've really got to do on as I barely watched Forest under him and yes, I've had a few joking potshots at the fact he looks like he'd hang around parks looking to by teenagers booze and spend the rest of the night trying to be pals with them because all his old mates have moved on with families and he's lonely BUT I do think some of the reactions on here are WAYYY OTT!
  21. If we get relegated, there is absolutely no chance that the board won't stick the blame onto the manager and sack them. What else are they going to do? Accept responsibility for the mess they've put us in?
  22. Think I'm more excited by Tommy Conway being in the squad than I was for Ben Doak. We need to unearth a prolific goalscorer and this lad has the chance to nail that spot down.
  23. Didn't he turn the entire squad against him in doing so? That's why he left, none of the players wanted to play for him.
  24. I'm sure if the name they mentioned suited people's opinions more, it would have done. Hear what we want to hear!
  25. No, it wasn't. Stop talking crap. You specifically said on numerous occasions that the club were talking with MON and even made comments about how people should thank you for your info. MON has since come out and said he was never in any contact with anyone at the club about taking over. I don't get what you gain from talking nonsense.
