  1. Two blatant bookings for Antony and Wan Bissaka missed, why? Can guarantee if they had gold shirts on they've have been straight into the book.
  2. Easily I would suspect. I'd be surprised if it sells out, not like it's a new ground for people.
  3. Just looks a cut above at this level. So composed in possession and seems to read the game 5 seconds ahead of everyone else. Early days, but looks a snip at £10m. All we need now is a creative midfielder to sit alongside him.
  4. Surely it just gets replaced by a t20, ten team franchise tournament though? Which is still better, imo, but still excludes eight first class counties.
  5. From what I've read, their main concern is that he's not quite quick enough.
  6. Archer won't ever play test match cricket again, imo. There's some solid quicks in the wings; I really liked the look of Tongue, Potts made a promising start and Robinson is the natural replacement in terms of style. Sam Cook and Gus Atkinson as uncapped options look pretty talented too. The trouble is, despite the quality of potential replacements, Broad will be so difficult to replace for two reasons. His fitness levels, whereby he can play every test, every summer are incredible, whereas most of our other options seem to break down after 3 consecutive matches (even less for players like Mahmood, Stone, Carse). Secondly, his ability to sense an occasion and swing a match is something which comes naturally to very few. His competitive streak is also so infectious and wills others on too. He's had a remarkable career, was brilliant to see him go out on such a high.
  7. What an ending to an utterly brilliant series.
  8. Gotta feel for Bairstow there. Still, surely a massive confidence boost. Big inroads needed before close today you feel.
  9. Such a glorious batsman to watch when he's in full flow too. Love his languid looking style. Well played Zak Crawley also. I've been highly critical of him in the past but some of his shots today were fantastic. Got lucky at times, but think he earned it. Need a lead of 200+ for me. Ideally, aim to get that by lunch and have another crack at them. Be such a shame if the rain ruins it, as this series deserves a proper ending. The cricket has been brilliant throughout.
  10. Ffs. Chasing a wide one.
  11. Got done 4-0 by the great Bradman team in 48. Think that's the closest we've come. Still confident we can dig out of this. Marsh has proven that there's runs to be had here if you can play your way in.
  12. Absolutely superb test cricket. Khawaja holds the key tomorrow for me. On a knife edge.
  13. Absolutely love a Stuart Broad spell like this!
  14. Yes, Foakes probably does take that stumping. But to the same token, does he get a run-a-ball 78 yesterday? Probably not. Foakes vs Bairstow was always a trade off in that regard, we all know that. No point banging on about it every time Bairstow makes an error behind the stumps. Just have to hope this one doesn't cost us too many runs.
  15. Slightly better than the first ball of the last ashes!
  16. Villa away was a rare highlight.
  17. Duckett did look in very good touch, but I suspect his hundred at Lords in April was tougher in terms of both conditions and bowling attack faced.
  18. Pedro Porro is horrendous.
  19. They've already made money off the STH's seat whether you attend or not, whereas the unallocated seat is making them nothing if left unsold. The marginal gain to them of selling the STH's seat is only the match ticket price less the ST price per match compared to an unallocated seat which is making them a full ticket's revenue once sold. In an ideal world they'd want to sell all of the 'unallocated' seats first before moving on to reselling any STH seats, presumably hence why they limit the resale period to a week. Not saying it's right but that's the obvious business rationale.
  20. City fans booing Cancelo, very odd behaviour.
  21. Bournemouth not to get another point?
  22. I think if we could get to 36 points that would likely be enough. 3 wins in 8, with a couple of draws. There are 5 'winnable' games in our run-in (Wolves, Leeds, Everton, Fulham and West Ham), and I suspect we'll need to take points from at least 4 of those. No chance of it happening on the basis of Saturday's performance, however if the new management team hit the ground running, who knows?
  23. Unsure why their ground gets so much praise for its atmosphere. Barely heard a peep out of them today.
  24. What an absolute farce. So now, if you buy a ticket but realise you can't attend, you now not only cannot get your money back by exchanging it on here but also get banned for your trouble? We don't have a problem with ticket touting or, largely, antisocial behaviour. This is quite clearly just a pretence for the club's obsession with knowing who everyone in the ground is. STH since 2005 and I never thought I'd say this, but the contempt with which the club are treating their paying customers has me seriously considering whether to renew. Quite a large part of me actually wants us to go down, so that we can rid ourselves of these clowns and get our club back.
