Yep - Matthew 7 12-23 - illustrates this conversation perfectly. It’s one of the reasons I love the bible and Jesus so much. A few years ago when I didn’t believe, I’d look to the likes if Kenneth Copeland as proof Christianity was about power and money and clearly false. But no, Jesus knew branches of Christianity would turn out the way they have and warns us, it’s a thought that should bring fear and trembling to those who profit from the gospel, Jesus will say to people who think they are Christians: “Depart from me, I never knew you.”

Well the prosperity gospel ala Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland is a false Gospel, they are Wolves in Sheeps clothing.

No I said I cant find a party to stand with as I need to 51% agree with them. Conservative was the closest but can’t forgive the last few years, Reform and labour a close second. I went to the booth intending to spoil my ballot and them did enie menie minie mo between Labour and Conservative and it landed on Conservative.
-
They are not, as a Christian we should love our neighbour and Reform’s immigration policy doesn’t sound very loving.

My only major criticism of FPTP is your voting power is limited depending on where you live. I live in a constituency that has changed hands a lot so feel my vote matters more but have in the past lived in conservative territory that even retained seats last night so vote feels a bit pointless.
-
I think your political compass is a bit skew whiff.

I hope this doesn’t come across as salty. Im not salty, I’m not even that disappointed, I don’t personally think Labour will do a good job but I felt the same about every other party but…. This will be remembered as the rise of the Labour party and collapse of conservatives. The latter is definitely true but the former is actually up for debate. Don’t get me wrong, Labour have won an absolute landslide and there is no getting away from that but there’s share of votes has not gone up that much. Labours rise is less about people putting their confidence in them and more about people having a lack of confidence in the tories. Whilst they have a clear mandate in terms of seats, I don’t think they have the mandate in terms of public opinion and we are about to see the rise of the Reform party. All imo

Before you call me a racist, I’m probably more liberal than you are when it comes to immigration and I didn’t vote reform but that comment is utter nonsense. Racism and a concern over immigration are not the same thing.

Prediction: LAB: 391 CON: 165 REF: 15 SNP: 21 LD; 35 GRE: 2 PC: 3 NI: 18

Couldn’t bring myself to wilfully back a candidate, was about to spoil my ballot and I thought whats the point. So I eenie, meanie miny moed it.

Reform vote is interesting - Typically this forum has been a fair bit more left wing than the general public, so if Reform are getting 20% on here I’d anticipate more like 30% in the real world. Although popular vote doesn’t equate to seats, i think they will become the third biggest party this election. If conservatives voters cut their losses and vote reform on Thursday they might even eclipse the tories. I don’t necessarily like Reform but I’d prefer Farage as the leader of the opposition to Rishi

It’s close between Reform and Spoilt Ballot I feel like I need to agree with at least 51% of a parties views to get behind them. I probably do with Conservatives but can’t forgive their reign. I don’t think Labour know what they stand for or besides being against the tories. Green are too liberal, Lib Dems too wishy washy. I think I agree with about 40% of what Farage says so that’s the closest but currently planning to spoil vote.
-
Think we are going to see a clear indicator of why our current electoral system needs changing. Reform will probably get 20% of the popular vote but only 4-5 seats. Labour will get 35-40% but get 400 seats. I find it very concerning that Labour are going to have one of the biggest majority governments ever, when more than half the country haven’t voted for them.

I mean I spent at least 15 minutes - possibly longer scrolling the map looking for a borough of London called somers town as I was sure I had heard it. Then spent a further 10 minuts finding a long street with royal mail on one side and a church on the other. Not sure If it’d have been more fun to google

And consequently this country is at the mercy of Sir Keir Starmer

Your head must be in the sand. Is your head in the sand? Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand? My suspicion would be no.

Never been this unenthusiastic about a party or an election. going to spoil my ballot I think The tories are too Tory Labour are deluded Lib Dems are too weak The other parties lack any real competence. There isn’t even a tactical vote option because none of the big parties are obviously worse.
-
Remove if not allowed. I think histroically foxestalk has swung 60/40 in labour’s favour.(Against the public opinion) Keen to see what that looks like now the Tories are set for a defeat. Just Labour or Tort for this one.
-
Labour minority - coalition with the SNP stopped following politics about two years ago so no idea really. I think like me, a lot of 2019 conservative voters are probably a bit tired of them now. From what I have seen of Starmer, I have no confidence in him so i’m hoping there is a decent independent candidate to vote for otherwise I will spoil my ballot

Depends what it is and if it is in the scope of your job. I completed a VBA project in excel to automate an admin task that took 200 hours of work per month into a copy, paste, click button job (2mins) I didn’t get anything but it was my job to do that.

That’s a false widow. They are the UK’s most venomous spider but don’t let that frighten you, they hardly ever bite and their bite is no more significant than a wasp sting. Full size they do look a bit menacing and whilst they stick to their webs they can move if they want to which is a bit scary.

Everything he had written on religion and philosophy was toilet paper at best anyway - him and Hitchens were the best at sophistry and missing the point in their arguments their are much better (still wrong) atheist debaters out there, just less popular because they actually try and deal with the argument.
