  1. That figure is way off as well. 40% is people who would christen their baby, celebrate easter and christmas but then live life normally the rest of the time. I reckon it’s closer to 5-10% of the UK are practising, church going believers and that’s probably an overestimation. I agree Christianity is ridiculed way more than other religions but the bible tells us that thats how it will be so that doesn’t bother me. I do get annoyed by the intellectually lazy scoffers though, not because I can’t take a joke but because it annoys me how foolish the people are who bolster their unbelief with that kind of thing.
  2. Are these all entries to the didn’t happen of the year awards?
  3. I manage hours and holiday liability for a large leisure and tourism company that mostly hires 18-21 year olds on a seasonal basis. All of the things you have posted are legal and pretty common in my sector, particularly forcing holiday. The rule for forcing holiday is that the employer must give twice as many days notice as the leave they are forcing. For example if I am forcing 5 days holiday on an employee, I have to give them 10 days notice. They are entitled to rebook those days elsewhere within that time constraint. red, amber and green zones for holiday is vital in a lot of industries. For instance our busiest months are may and june and we will only approve holiday requests for exceptional circumstances.
  4. I’m still a casual browser - I don't post very often anymore as I think I rub people up the wrong way and not my intention at all.
  5. I know there is a good degree of irony in me responding to this over the web but I often wonder if life would be better if it was a passing fad and we were well shot of it.
  6. People thinking for themselves. Cash Campinos
  7. Probably in like 1-2weeks
  8. Also the zips on any jacket, hoodie or coat and bags.
  9. All of their tooth brushes, any milk in the fridge and all of the shoelaces from their shoes
  10. Agreed, extra promotion spot for championship for that season. we went down because we weren’t goid enough - We dont deserve to be in the prem off the back of a technicality
  11. 🤢
  12. In my experience the posters who have what is described in 2023 as “provocative views” would do well to keep themselves to themselves. Unfortunately people are seldom capable of engaging in well-reasoned discourse and result to ad-hominem attacks or else whine about why the provocateurs views are so scummy via pseudo-intellectual tosh. I used to engage on here quite a bit but I just use it as a football forum to keep up with LCFC now. Well I did, this post is probably enough to set people off and result in a ban. Ah well.
  13. I love cooking, cleaning, washing up, looking after my kid. I don’t like going out but force myself to for the sake of my wife and social conventions. I have a relatively well paid job but my dream would be to sack it in and take a job as a kitchen porter or cleaner. I think one day I will probably do that.
  14. Absolutely mind boggling to me that people in the west who are comfortable and woefully ignorant of the history can do anything but simply acknowledge that civilian murder is evil and pray that there might be peace in the region.

    UFOs

The chances of another life form being capable of traveling to earth are remote. Space is massive and discovering how to travel fast enough would be the easiest problem to solve. I’m not sure about the things that have been in the media over the last few years but id be inclined towards phenomena being of angelic/demonic origins as opposed to aliens if such things are not elaborate hoaxes or have earrhly explanations.
  16. I think we need to calm down a bit. We were humbled today and haven’t exactly won comfortably yet. This is a tough league and a ling season. I think we are rightfully favourites but I think its a coin flip that we’ll secure enough points for auto promotion.
  17. Have i won?
  18. Not sure if this is backed up by science so feel free to disregard but i feel I’ve read or heard somewhere that Women tend to be much more at the median point if an intelligence metric with fewer highly stupid and highly intelligent occurrences, whereas men tend to sit at the higher/lower point much more frequently. Hence more men are highly intelligent and equally highly stupid. That could play a factor. A lot of women in my family do like to play chess but I don’t think thats common - perhaps the queens gambit that was on Netflix will increase the amount if women interested in the game. As an avid chess player myself, Id welcome more people being interested in the game - its awesome.
  19. Every time someone replies “busy” when I ask how there week has been.
  20. sensible. Im a hot head and i honestly cant imagine myself doing anything other than driving through them, obviously as safely as I can and with fair warning. I wonder whether you’d get off on necessity if you injured someone.
  21. Thought experiment, if you were stuck in your car in the way to hospital (life and death) and were blocked by just stop oil protesters. What would you do? theres no option to turn around, it would take too long to get out in foot or to look elsewhere for public transport. Would you call the authorities, wait patiently, try and clear them, run them over? FYI for anyone who supports just stop oils methods, this is the kind of conversation they are getting their audience to have.
  22. For atheist friends, how would you distinguish between the latter two options? Arent they one and the same? 2nd option for me
