It sold the same day!

I'm talking about public chargers

No mention of depreciation though?

There must be some kind of mistake. The best team in the Championship didn't get promoted?

The vast majority of people that I'm selling to have major concerns over long journeys that they make regularly. EV sales are down year on year at the moment, only really being propped up by businesses using them for the tax incentives. Private sales are way down. Globally, Tesla sales are down 36% on the same period 12 months ago. That's a huge decrease. I don't know what will happen in the future, but right now, getting tied in to a finance contract on an EV won't end well.

If you have no other option but to use a public charger, you make no saving. And believe me, I'm paid a lot better for selling EV's than any other car, because manufacturers are desperate to move them. EV's also depreciate faster than any other vehicle on the road. After 3 years, their value will have at least halved, this isn't the case with ICE cars. We're seeing a lot of customers switch back to to ICE having taken a considerable financial hit on an EV.

Any new government will need to add incentives to make people switch to EV's, the market has totally died. I've got a three year old top spec Nissan Leaf in stock, we're retailing it at £12250. It's only got 12k on the clock. The vast majority of customers I speak to, completely scoff at the idea of buying an EV, the most common thing I hear is: "The infrastructure isn't there, I would even consider it". Manufacturers also need to price them in line with ICE vehicles. Away from EV's, the government need to urgently look at the 'luxury car tax' threshold. Any new car with a list price over £40k is subject to £600 road tax for the first 5 years. It's ridiculous. They haven't reviewed that for around 5 years. A new high, but not highest, spec Qashqai is coming in at over £40k now and people are walking away because they don't fancy paying an extra 2 grand to the government. Something needs to be done to get the economy moving and getting people to spend money.

Nobody wants to buy EV's. There's a complete surplus of new vehicles built and ready to go, but no takers. At Nissan, we're doing brand new cars half price, on 0% finance and still nobody will take them. If you do take one on a PCP, the only way to get out of it is to hand it back to the finance company at the end of your term. You'll always be in negative equity. I've seen people put down a 10k deposit and still be in 8k negative equity after having their EV for 3 years. There's no incentive to own one, no more government grants, no more charger grants, they'll soon have to pay road tax, the price of electricity is also the same as fuel. I like EV's and have really come round to the idea of them, but there's no point buying one right now. Getting tied in to a finance contract on one will financially cripple you.

Ffs, almost put a tenner on a Lookman hat-trick at half time. 9/1

Received my e-tickets for the final day of The Open yesterday. Really looking forward to it, I haven't been since 2003 at Royal St George's. Anyone who's been recently got any tips? I imagine it's changed quite a bit since I last went. Only 2 of us going, so getting in the unreserved seating around the 18th probably won't be viable, if you can even do that nowadays? We managed to sneak in to the stand on the last hole all those years ago, long story! To get the best experience, should we park ourselves around the green at a particular hole? Follow a few groups around? Stick with one of the leading groups later on? A mixture? I'll definitely be heading to the practice area and putting green at some point during the day, I find that fascinating to watch and you do get pretty close up to the players. Anyone else going?

The worst part about all of that is that you had to get off in Kettering.

I don't know a lot about the Renault's to be honest. You definitely have different specs out there to what we sell in the UK. I probably should know more about them as they share platforms with Nissan, who I now work for. The Arkana might be worth a look? I think they're sized between the Captur and Austral. A Nissan Juke would be very similar to the Captur, but look at the 1.6 hybrid as opposed to the 1.0 auto. The standard auto has a horrible DCT gearbox which is really laggy and jumpy. The Qashqai is really similar to the Kadjar. An N-Connecta or Tekna would be the spec to look at as they don't have leather seats. The E-Power engine on them is brilliant. Literally just sold a brand new one to my sister-in-law today. It's a hybrid, but a different type. Fully driven by electric, but has a petrol engine that acts as a generator. Really smooth and quiet, plus good on fuel. I never got to drive the Tonale as I left Alfa before it arrived, but it looked stunning, of course it did, it's an Alfa! MX5 wise, don't think I've ever even sat in one, but worth looking at the Fiat Spider and the Abarth version too as they're built on the same chassis. You might get better value with those brands.

Well that's getting printed on a t-shirt for my visit to Troon

Garnacho is one of the worst footballers I've ever seen.

Taken about 20 minutes ago, in the middle of nowhere, Northamptonshire, pitch black. Is the green tinge the Northern Lights? Couldn't see that with the naked eye.

We can definitely still win this

You know San Miguel is Filipino, right?

12 to Portugal? Dame Joanna has just lost national treasure status.

Nothing from Ukraine? We want our military equipment back.

I think the face is a bigger issue?

Benny looks good.

A bit disappointed with it this year. They could've got Alan Partridge to perform an ABBA medley. Plus there just wasn't enough male nudity for my liking.
