I think the answer lies in there is no logic and that's why it is more likely than not with us.
-
I think that's wishful thinking that he hasn't got a clue. My suspicion is he actually does get info on us now under Cooper.

Two weeks ago we were after Zaha, Hlozek and Fotis. A LW/RW, a 10 and a striker. We've since signed Ayew who's a LW/RW but then we always wanted him so perhaps those 3 positions are still to be filled with Kaminski as the LW/RW, El Khannouss and the 10 and a mystery striker?
-
This will be a relief to get done, let's hope it happens. I might stop being a mardy bastard for a bit.
-
That will be done then

I'd envisaged a loan move to Birmingham or Blackpool but this is a decent test for him. Can see him doing very well.
-
Just recorded an episode of the podcast with Henry Winter and Sven's PR agent Dean Eldredge, we have tried to articulate what made Sven so unique.
-
Both leagues are a bit of a downgrade from Belgium's top league I agree, but they've been up there with the leagues standout players, done well in Europe and internationally Nanasi has started well. The fee we'll pay doesn't represent El Khannouss being twice the player of them.
-
You don't need to tell me about El Khannouss, I know more about football players than you've had hot dinners son. What I'm querying is the inevitable fee we're going to be slapped for. Nanasi and Gronbaek have delivered just as much, if not more than El Khannouss so far in their respective leagues and Europe and gone for half what Bilal will cost. We get done time and time again but as long as it's under €25m I'll be happy to have him.
-
Absolutely staggering that we're going to end up paying double what Gronbaek and Nanasi went for. El Khannouss is a quality prospect but I'm not sure he's better than either of them and certainly hasn't proven himself to be yet at a level not that wildly different.

I still think Serge Aurier ends up here and Ricardo will head out

I heard our up front committed payment was similar to what Cov paid for Ellis Simms. Eith a load of add ons included. I imagine some of that was paid on promotion too.
-
True but at risk of not selling at all by demanding much more to a PL club, might make their finances unecessarily stretched. They wouldn't have demanded as much as we paid for Skipp.

Cooper would probably swap them Alves for Chris Wood.

Could well do without them needing a striker whilst we do too.

This is so so sad. I can't explain it but I've always felt a deep bond and love for Sven. It stems from his time with England, which was by no means a success nor was it a success with us but there is something so captivating about the man. He's what I wish I was as a man, he carried himself with such grace and personality. True hero of mine and reminded me very much of my grandad too. Rest in peace you lovely man Sven, I'll always remember you.

What's odd about this is he hasn't been asked to play left side of defence? Unless that was thr plan before Coady got injured. I thought he'd looked decent the opening 2 games, that back heel aside bit I'd not be too bothered if we sold him for north of £15m. If we could get an actual left footed CB then that would be better for us in the long run. If we went for another right footer then I'd like us to look at van den Berg from Middlesborough.
-
He's a very talented player who's a far more all rounded midfielder than it may seem. As much an 8 as he is a 10 in effecting play from the middle of the park. My biggest concern with him is his 1st touch is extremely scruffy, but he's good at progressing the ball. In some ways that's what KDH was.

€20m + €5m in add ons the magic number? Is he worth that?
-
I can just about adhere to that too however, whilst we've neither got in the creative players we need, nor have loaned out our top academy prospects it's all very frustrating. Alves should have started most pre-season games to test him in this system and he should have been an option off the bench so far. We were very much in Saturdays game 2nd half and didn't create anything 2nd half as we had absolutely no options off the bench. Picking 5 defensive midfielders in a 20 man squad is mesmerising.

Could probably get him for less than double what we paid for Ayew as well. Looks breathtaking. Where's Sverre Nypan going to end up? Such an easy £40-50m player in the next few years.
