  1. It does look like Nelson is destined to go right to the top, which is absolutely fantastic. There's been many occasions when we've got excited by an academy player aged 16/17 and it doesn't work out for them but it really does feel that it was just a matter of time for Nelson. The pre-season of 2021 it was very clear he was a phenomenal talent but its taken 2+ years to get a chance.
  2. I didn't see too much different yesterday to the Swansea game though, except because we got the 2nd goal in quick succession it felt less concerning that we might do exactly what we'd done twice vs Ipswich. Both teams played a ridiculously high line against us and we took them apart. Both games could have seen us score 7 or 8. It's so good to see the chance creation so high at the minute. I think the impetus has stepped up.
  3. What you are seeing is the consequence of 2 possibly 3 teams that under achieved last season to get relegated. Very rare do all 3 teams that came up the year before or even the ones that came up the year before that not be in the relegation spots. It's been a very strong season for us all and Ipswich.
  4. Will be far more dangerous as an 8 in this system because he presses well, is fairly quick and he finds space naturally. His limitations are less exposed as they are on the wing but he'll still need to work hard at retaining the ball and not giving it away. He's also fairly strong in the air which is something one of our 8's is ideally good at, it helps us attacking crosses and knock downs when we spot an opportunity on the counter from defence.
  5. I think 3rd place could be around 95/96 points which is absolutely wild. Maybe it won't be quite that high but I see Southampton and Leeds being very close on points and the final game decides it. Think Ipswich will just fall short around 88-90.
  6. 4 positions Academy director and DOF at LCFC DOF at Leuven Some gig with King Power horse racing
  7. His shot stopping is actually better than his distribution, which he's also elite at.
  8. He's been sensational today
  9. The chipped cross is the single best coaching influence Enzo has had on this team and there's many.
  10. I don't think we'll see KDH and Yunus start together much, especially not away from home.
  11. This is the position I think will suit McAteer better. Will need to retain the ball better than he's currently been doing but it's a different role and confident he can do.
  12. I might be wrong but the general consensus is that head of recruitment leads on identifying targets and will have a recommendation on transfer value but not wages or anything like that. It is the DOF's role to negotiate the transfers in and out, as well as the wages/contracts and contract renewals.
  13. Sorry the key duties, similar thing. Must come as a huge shock to thr apologists in our fanbase. Someone else must do that at Leicester, definitely not our DOF.
  14. That job description is not the job description of our director of football in the eyes of many of our fans.
  15. Silko Thomas looks like he's got some talent too. Shame we couldn't get a couple loans this week but hopefully get down to a few more U21 games this season to watch them all.
  16. Do you get occasional free beer and cakes at games? It's rights all the wrongs in some of our fans eyes.
  17. Ward Iversen Ricardo Justin Faes Souttar Kristiansen Thomas Soumare Dewsbury-Hall Daka Looking much healthier, but still a concern. Let's hope we've not enticed Coady and Winks here with huge promotion wage bonuses. We'd never do that surely.
  18. If anyone has time to watch the Godfather trilogy in its entirety then you've time to listen to last night's @BSLBPod marathon. We've a guest who's wiped the floor with me on Who Are Ya and WDYCFWDYG. I'm on the scrapheap. This is an episode for those who get particularly passionate about our ownership and board, in particular our DOF.
  19. Hope so, Plymouth couldn't deal with him in December nor could Swansea on Tuesday.
  20. And despite stuff like this, fleecing kids £10 for the player sessions etc, you get pots and pans clappers like this character. The finishing sentence it's quite something.
  21. No, when you go back up, the wages go back to what they were when in the PL.
  22. Best news of the last few days this is. Sounds like Alves and Briggs impressed in the 8 roles, as well as some other strong performances.
  23. Hahahahaaa I said this on the pod post Plymouth game, it's sensational. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.
  24. We have a huge gulf in what the majority of this squad will be on wages wise once back in the Prem and what a new wage structure needs to be. With our inability to sell, I don't see how this gets rectified quickly, so we have the issue of either continuing to pay our new recruits what the rest are on, or struggle to recruit because they have to sign on terms far less than players we have that we don't even want. We've made our bed.
