  1. You'd quoted @moore_94 and I thought for a minute we'd got a resident academy player who posted on here!! 😂 Its good to see the likes of Ewing return. Hopefully Braybrooke, Popov, Flynn etc do too. Unfortunately we don't get to hear updates on academy injuries very often.
  2. Don't think so
  3. Is @moore_94 Oli Ewing??? Well well well 😉
  4. Wouldn't be surprised to hear its a 1.5 year deal with an option for a further year.
  5. One thing that's impressed me most is his recoveries, he's deceptively quick which is a huge plus. He's not rapid by any means but a lack of pace won't be a weakness for him and that's why I see him slowly moving in to the reckoning for us this season and next, even in the Premier League (if we don't blow it).
  6. Not heard anything recently.
  7. I wonder if he's no longer considered for the U21s and he's full time with the 1st team. When fully fit he'll challenge for a spot on the bench, which hopefully will be imminently.
  8. Yeah I know, but I don't want them lot to get him. He strengthens them.
  9. I can't see Antwerp being able to afford him (wages wise), they're doing crap in the league and he can sit tight and pick up a much nicer wage from a club in the summer.
  10. Good stuff pal!
  11. Odd, he's not left footed nor is he one who'd obviously fit the inverted full back profile.
  12. Hmmmm don't think I can agree with you on that. His pressing vs Ipswich was very strong. I'd noticed it first in the Huddersfield game as well. I'll watch him again but he's a noticeable improvement on Vardy and most definitely Iheanacho who's unpressable.
  13. Romano should be the centre piece of the reveal video. I do wonder if them lot are at a loss with the way we operate, in the sense that transfer agreements are pretty much done and then signings happen quite quickly after, so they report it as such. With us though there's like a vacuum and it leaves them utterly mystified 😂
  14. Maziz should be one for us to be heavily scouting. I've followed him for a number of years and was very surprised Leuven got him. He's a classy player but Leicester don't seem to want to utilise the relationship with Leuven, which is frankly bizarre.
  15. It's £7.7m according to Galatasaray. Or whatever €9m works out at come the end of June haha. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/galatasaray-reveal-compulsory-purchase-fee-8708114 We are in a financial tight spot but don't forget the £7.7m + Fatawu's £14m or so will be spread in the accounts over 5 years, so it's little over £4m a year on the books. That's Vardy's wages + change.
  16. The resemblances to Perez, although they aren't alike as players it's not the worst shout. Presumably what fans mean by this is a player who is on the periphery of our team but never quite sure what their best position is. However, for £7m (spread over 4-5 years I'm still inclined to take a chance on him and not restrict his appearances. The old cliche he just needs a goal is very relevant to Akgün, we were told by Turkish fans that he seems to get more and more reluctant to shoot or take risks when his confidence drops. I hope this really kick starts him to follow it up with another goal or strong performance and see where it takes him. His role in this system is a curious one. I hadn't really noticed the difference in where he plays vs where others do in those two advanced midfielder roles, but he's definitely more influential when he's allowed to push more as a 10 with Ricardo stepping up slightly forward in his inverted full back role to be more alongside the other 8 than say Winks or Hamza. Even if he's never a stand out 1st choice, that different type of creative midfielder is needed and he seems determined and strong for someone so slight. Let's see what happens over the next few months.
  17. The issue of for Vardy and our team is that he cannot press like Cannon or Daka and the team suffers as a result. The same with Iheanacho. Vardy may well still have a part to play for us and against certain opposition but we saw against Ipswich that if we have a slender lead and need to ensure we don't drop off from the front, he's not the answer. What was encouraging on Saturday though was his harshly ruled out 2nd goal. As a team we don't get enough 1 v 1 chances for our strikers and he's always been the best of them all.
  18. The 5th round draw is going to make it highly unlikely for a deep cup run for a Championship side. I'd only want us going strong vs Bournemouth if we've navigated the next 6 Championship games really well, including the game away at Leeds.
  19. If that is true then they are off their heads and welcome to him. Even with 3 years left on his deal he's only worth about that price.
  20. Under the same agency as KDH, wouldn't surprise me.
  21. Didn't even bring him on for a few minutes, the bastards.
  22. I said pony at the minute. Don't see what the issue with that is, players go in and out of form and are judged. We only have a small window of evidence on McAteer but there was enough in the early part of the season to suggest he's got plenty of qualities. He's showing (at the minute) plenty of weaknesses too, his passing, crossing and ability to take players on is lacking. I still think he's got a future at this level, his ability to be found in the box to score looks natural, that cannot be taught and his energy and pressing make the nucleus of a strong player. I don't think he's a 1 v 1 winger, but could see him being useful as an 8 in this system.
  23. If there's ever an exodus from Saudi and players to be picked up on the cheap, Seki Fofana under Enzo in the Prem next season would be spot on. He's the physical and aggressive box to box midfielder that I'm seeing resemblance with Ndidi this season.
  24. It's a good test if we opt to go strong to see where we are in our aspirations of being a PL class team. But the dilemma is going strong, we'll have played Leeds away before this and then we'll have QPR at home the following weekend that will be very much a key winnable game that we may need no risks on.
