And Millwall, although we were very open 1st half and 2 nil was fortuitous.
-
No way, he is not comfortable progressing the ball. It's time to move Winks and Ricardo in to the 8 roles and Hamza in the Winks role.
-
2nd choice keeper on £55k a week? Surely not? Which means absolutely 😂😂
-
I hope we don't but most PL and top EFL sides will still pay far more than the majority of European teams.

Random / Semi Unheard of Players you’ve spotted that we should look at

Very Will Alves-esque Caylan Vickers from Reading. -
It's only really material on players purchased north of £30m. Even then at £6m a season for 5 years, a contract renewal after 2 years then spreads £18m over 5 years at £3.75m a year rather than £6m a year, only saving £2.25m a year for FFP.
-
Other than we tend to pay outrageously well and if you do manage to stick around for a while you'll invariably win something or be part of something ridiculous.
-
Got booked vs Cov and had a few others previously apparently.
-
No as Sensi was at Samp the season before.
-
The amount of times our players carry on playing and are then injured is astonishing. Didn't Ndidi carry on vs Cardiff and then now out for 3 months?
-
Thanks, I was struggling to determine what wasn't part of the 70%. I suppose in this scenario, the losses of £105m over 3 years are much easier to achieve / impossible not to unless the remaining costs are Sky high and some of which discountable from FFP anyway (investment in infrastructure, academy etc) On that final point, that is key for me. I chunter on and on and on about this but the route to trying to remain prosperous in this financial world is a flag ship academy. We need to overhaul it, it needs to be at the forefront of our blueprint. Best training facilities in Europe, should be the standout pick for any Midlands talent and yet we're not. We look for the cast offs from Villa because Petty is no doubt still pals with a load of them.

Likewise Luke Thomas. He's a curious one because despite the ridicule, his wages won't be stupidly high and with his experience for club and country aged 22, a championship club would be interested in him for £2-4m. We have an option to extend his contract by a year as well and even if we didn't, he'd cost similar at tribunal so where as players close to contract expiry are difficult to sell with 6 months left, Thomas - if there is genuine interest shouldn't be an issue.

Only thing that might sway Praet is 4 months of 1st team football could get him an outside sniff for Euro 2024.
-
He was genuinely a cheat code vs them weren't he. I remember one away game we were absolutely vile and yet he took it upon himself to win us the game.
-
Yeah, I don't think it'll happen. Can't see where the squad space is for him. Suppose if Souttar, Albrighton, McAteer or Iheanacho were moved on then there's space. Praet really needs to step up now, is lack of availability is absolutely disgraceful.
-
Same thing though really, if we haven't £2m wiggle room on FFP then that's perilously close to breaching it and risking taking it right to zero for a player who comes with a big risk and hefty wages is cause for concern. I suspect we're close as most clubs are and the goal posts move again should we get promoted and have different parameters to work in, some that will benefit us and some that might not. I think with the squad the way it is right now, Sensi is only coming in if Praet moves on. Like for like on wages I suspect.
-
In 3 weeks time we have Daka and Iheanacho. We can't register 5 strikers in a 25 man squad so unless we can sell Iheanacho (unlikely as I think he's running his contract down) then there's minimal we can do.

Luigi Cherubini - Roma His contract is up in the summer and with Enzo at the helm we ought to exploit Italian clubs reluctance to give their youth players a chance. -
Is that correct? I always thought it was on the original length of the contract and cannot be amortised over more than 5 years now anyway.
-
Ay??? UEFA FFP is only applicable to us if we return to European football does it not?
