I requested an audition with an at the time, reasonably well known band in London in 1989 and tracked them down to a nightclub called Gossips. They entertained my interest - patronised me, but unbeknown to me already had a guitar player lined up. I sat at the bar with Lemmy, who was propping it up and he told me not to waste my time on a bunch of egotistical prima donnas. He bought me a few drinks - top shelf - and was happy to dredge up stories about Hawkwind and his past at my behest - no pretence, self-deprecating as ever, whilst showing a genuine interest in my ambitions. I shit you not - 15 years later I walked into the Rainbow on Sunset LA and he was in his customary position at the bar. I headed over grinning and iwithout really looking up he said, "What the **** kept you? You owe me a single malt pal. Double neat. Your round". Absolute salt of the Earth that bloke. RIP.

Hat, I very much doubt he's reading this. -
Yes. It got re-packaged at some stage.

There are plans afoot as we speak for the West Stand to be renamed the Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha Stand. The Kop is to be called the Rooster Russell End, whilst the family stand is to be christened the 'Ron Robert Zeiler Stand'. The East Stand is to incorporate a mural of Jon Rudkin on the seating.

A new study published today posits that a vast magma ocean may have once existed on the moon's south pole, a region of high interest to spacefaring nations hoping to return to the lunar surface. https://cosmosmagazine.com/space/exploration/india-lunar-moon-ocean-magma/

Exactly. Traore poses very little threat to warrant this and his power and pace belies his woeful goal scoring record and dire finishing in front of goal. He's basically Jeff Schlupp Mk.II with a pot of vasseline and 1000mg of steroids per week. -

He would have been hailed as a complete hero if he had succeeded in lobbing Vicario. -

Not quite the full story. Worth also mentioning that we defended gallantly at the back under intense sustained pressure, we managed to hold out for a point where game management was a huge issue under Rodgers and indeed previously for Maresca. We showed huge reserves of character and fortitude turning it round in the second half (again this has arguably been lacking). Finally, that concussion injury did indeed take the sting out of our offence, but had it not have happened we may well have taken all three points. -
In the interest of English literature.

Mods, could you do us all a favour and delete the 'Serge's Leicester Poem' thread? Thanks.

I'm blindfolding her tomorrow night. Not subjecting her to that. Try Steve Hare, based in Kibworth (Hare and Hounds). Specialises in gun dogs/retrievers, Usually booked up for weeks though.

Perhaps the same people that thought this would be a good idea?

I quite liked them when they first emerged, particularly when they were synonymous with the club's identity, origins, the local community or business. Always liked the Toon's Newcastle Brown strips, Guinness on the QPR shirt, (Park Royal is not far from Loftus Road), and of course Walkers. https://thesefootballtimes.co/2019/01/29/how-the-demise-of-local-shirt-sponsors-has-killed-the-connection-between-fans-and-their-team/
