Since when did posts on Foxes Talk require or rely on evidenced facts?
-
@Livid What did you think of the Molotovs last night?
-
No offence taken. So basically a motorcyclist passed you on a roundabout to the left in slow-moving virtually stationary traffic, (because he could), got in front, the red mist came down and you chased him down and tailgated him because it made you feel better. Now that is weird. Bye then.
-
Right, so we are getting closer to what actually happened here.
-
Thanks, I initially asked you that but you didn't clarify what you meant by "inside". That's shit, and you could have been blindsided - they should have passed you cleanly and visibly in the right hand lane. Was the traffic slow moving? You achieved nothing by tailgating them though.
-
But was he in the lane to the right of you? You were also in the wrong for tailgating him. Ridiculous comment. You will see motorcycles and cars ridden and driven badly. There are some utterly appalling drivers out there and also some lunatics or clueless fools let loose on motorbikes. Sounds like you have a prejudice against bikers.
-
Not at all, but irrespective of blame, you really shouldn't have tailgated him. So to be clear, the rider used the lane to your right to pass you? - (which also entitles him to go straight on).
-
What do you mean "undercut you on a roundabout"? What lane were you in? Were you going round it or straight on? When you say "motorbike" what was it? A scooter or a larger machine? You drove up his arse for a mile or so for what? And if that's the case, either the rider was adhering to the speed limit, or it wasn't a particularly powerful bike.
-
They really aren't. You couldn't be further from their agenda.

To clarify, that is not the point I was making. I'm saying that a tribute band could not substitute for the original band in their day just as a reformation couldn't. It almost invariably never does.
-
But that's the point. Johnny Marr is perfectly happy in his own skin. He won't tour as The Smiths on his own and in so doing compromise his integrity and their history because he neither wants to nor needs to. What? A tribute band can't substitute for 1980s Smiths. Paint by numbers, derivative dross like Oasis, 'definitely/maybe' (and would do it better than this current farcical reunion). I grant you, many of these tribute acts nail it as musicians but it is artistically meaningless. The problem is, these days, touring is where the money is and this is tempting bands out of hiatus or retirement, destroying their legacy and often trading on the name, where key members are frequently absent of their choosing or deceased and replaced by makeshift hired musicians. Bands like the Smiths were inimitable and even original personnel very often struggles to recapture the essence of the band meaning that these nostalgia tours are a pale imitation of the past or an outright parody and might are about as relevant as the tribute bands that are often tighter and more professional. Either that, or the acrimony that tore them apart in the first place simmers underneath and eventually boils over onstage. Witness the recent debacle surrounding Jane's Addiction. Occasionally this tension can be the spark that reignites the old flame that made a band so special, but when you know that they are solely out there for the money, with the original potency gone, it's all somewhat sterile and flaccid.

Although experts had been warning for decades that a pandemic was imminent 'Wold, and the government, in addition to administrations all across the planet, were ill prepared for the effects of SARS-Cov-2, an emergent novel virus such as Alpha is difficult to combat in the absence of natural resistance. Also, remember that XEC is a variant of omicron for which there is defence and could just mean another wave over the winter.

As I suspected. Staggering ignorance of our history.

This is either a joke or staggering ignorance.

What a cross from Justin!
-
If you mention him a third time you might just get his name right.
-
Great switch by Faes then.
-
Could be one hell of a triple impact substitution if he has the balls to make it though.

Unless you are averse to the idea of eating whale meat.

Yes many times. Know it well. Good to hang out in Dillon Whiskey Bar, whilst Damon Albarn's old haunt (and former co-ownership of) Kaffibarinn is well worth a visit. It's a small city which you can easily explore on foot and there are also walking tours conducted by very knowledgeable guides. Find the "Neighborhood of the Gods," where the names of the streets derive from the Old Norse religion. You can find Odin's Street (Odinsgata), Thor's Street (Thorsgata), Loki's Path (Lokastigur), Freya's Street (Freyjugata), amongst several others. It's a very pleasant area. Austurvollur Square is the home to the Icelandic parliament, located just by the square. Cafes and shops line one side of the square, and just behind the parliament building is Reykjavik's oldest church, Domkirkjan. I once bumped into Jónsi Birgisson from Sigur Rós exiting a restaurant here. Reykjavik's city lake (Reykjavikurtjorn, or Tjornin for short) is home to a bevy of wildlife and if you are a keen ornithologist, a twitcher's paradise. In winter, the lake sometimes freezes, allowing people to cross on foot or ice skate. The lake is framed by beautiful old houses, behind which lies Holavallakirkjugardur, the oldest cemetery in Reykjavik. Go to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja (the phallic spire that looks like a penis). It also houses the largest concert organ in Iceland at 50 feet (15 meters) tall with over a 5,000 pipes weighing in at 25 tons.

I don't think he's being serious - no one could be that dim, even on Foxes Talk.

Bit harsh. The movement was the original 'Brit Pop' back in the sixties. Talking of 'Brit Pop' anything that Oasis are currently charging exorbitant ticket prices to dredge up and perform live again. In particular, the dreadful 'Wonderwall'. They couldn't even conceive of an original title.
