Yep - savage was and still is a complete idiot but boy did he work well with that Oneill team - specifically for 3 years with Lennon and izzet - wasn’t much of an actual footballer in the sense but his energy was terrific and he never stopped running - got us through many battles and let the other 2 play - izzet obviously the baller but Lennon could properly play as well for a scrapper

Can’t help but thinking he was under the impression loads of offers would come in - I’m sure he has had a few that just haven’t worked for one reason or the same reason his Mrs - makes you wonder what he will do - I’m pretty sure we would have offered him reduced terms for one more year before it all became official he was leaving as he would have been sure he would get his 100k a week somewhere- I’m not sure any established prem teams would touch him - scared he would be a handful in the changing room - you have to remember he is a one off and we will love him forever but not everyone does - I think he is currently sitting there after not doing a proper pre season thinking coming back on reduced terms wouldn’t be the worst idea - it won’t happen because we don’t have the money but it’s definitely not been his plan to still be without a club come august - we’ve seen before after injuries how off it he looks - no pre season ain’t a good thing at his age - let’s see what happens but I wouldn’t rule out his reps floating the idea of coming back at all

Yep couldn’t agree more - not sure where any positivity comes from after watching him yesterday- ‘he was better than winks’ doesn’t mean he wasn’t crap - weirdly we played winks completely out of position trying to do things he can’t do and not the things he does really well picking the ball up off the cbs and dragging oppo onto us - I’m not sure what kind of set up that was with skipp and winks yesterday - I’m all for giving marti time to work it all out but all yesterday showed was that both winks and skippp were honking at what was being asked of them - neither of them can run or jump or head a ball or make a tackle - bodes well for a quality partnership 😂😂- after watching soumare and Ndidi with absolutely zero quality between them for most of last year these 2 hardly fill you with the hope of upgrades do they - 4 utterly poo centre mids for all kind of different reasons - none of them good

Having him over soumare any day of the week in this league - he will be fine - hopefully will show he has a bit more quality against lesser opposition than last year where he was completely out of his depth just like the rest of them

Unfortunately he is pretty much guaranteed to start in this team - club have invested an absolute fortune in him fee and wages wise and never started 5 games in a row - if the club are as stupid as we all know they will think he is a 20m striker still and will score goals at this level - we all however know he is absolutely useless and if he is our number 9 this year we are screwed

No im saying that Thomas can’t be our starting left back and best option like some are saying - JJ is absolutely fine at this level

On a slightly lighter note I think he will be fine as second choice behind a decent left back - if we play the Enzo way then I’m ok with him behind JJ - if we are playing a basic 4 at the back and he is our starting left back we definitely have another problem

Doyle , JJ and Thomas - don’t forget we won the league and one of them never played a single minute and he is our best option now 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
