  1. That's just what Jesus said sir.
  2. I can well believe it. The few times I've been to a body shop/repair company the first question they always ask is "Is it an insurance job?", like what difference should that make to the cost of actually making that repair? I'm sure they just know they can get away with charging more when it's through the insurance.

  4. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet, is that if someone is forced to use an NFC capable smart phone then they'll be forced to agree to third parties' terms and conditions of use, i.e. one or possibly all of the following: the smart phone manufacturer, Apple or Google app store, the Apple or Google wallet app, (possibly something else I've missed). Some people may not want any of this, but my main point is that essentially the only contract to gain entry should be between you and the club, not being forced to enter into contracts with third parties. Few if any people will care about this but I think it's still a valid point. Along the same lines, what if for example Apple lock you out of your account and you cannot access your Apple Wallet with your e-ticket in it? Another possible reason you can't use your phone to add to the list. Just give people the choice.
  5. Jump to 21 minutes for the speeches (but it's worth watching the whole episode!). Might just be one or two little things that help but basically ties in with everything that has been said. Ps. The whole first series pretty much revolves around the upcoming wedding following the lads' reunion, so maybe worth watching/re-watching the whole thing. Very funny and it's all on YouTube, the stag night episode definitely worth a watch if nothing else (episode 12)... https://youtu.be/wp4VNy1DiO8
  6. Yeah I think it's awesome. I read that if he ever actually wanted to sell the house, he technically has to sell it as a bunker that comes with a house rather than a house that comes with a bunker. Not sure if true but quite possibly! On a similar note, I discovered yesterday that Leicester City Hall has a nuclear bunker, but that's for another thread.
  7. This is Colin Furze and he's got videos of himself building this tunnel on YouTube, it's actually pretty epic and very smartly done. This followed on from building his own underground bunker in his back garden. He's done quite a lot of mad engineering stuff on there and is very entertaining. Definitely worth checking out - https://youtube.com/c/colinfurze
  8. Good shout re lockers, but also in the gyms you've got wheels on the weight machines that route the cables, wheels on all the treadmills etc to help manoeuvre them plus wheels on the rowing machines that the seats roll on, so if you think of all the equipment in a typical gym those wheels soon add up too!
  9. Am surprised no-one has mentioned lorries yet. 2 doors and 10 wheels on the cab, 2 doors and 12 wheels on the trailer (or something like that), plus the steering wheel, volume knob etc same as with cars.
  10. The tax savings surely won't last forever though as sooner or later, as the proportion of electric cars gets higher, the government will need to find that missing fuel and vehicle tax revenue from somewhere. My guess is they'll make black boxes compulsory and we'll be charged per mile based on some sort of 'value factor' your car is (what I mean is an S class Mercedes should cost more to run than a Toyota Yaris) and I'm sure they'd love us all to have black boxes. Also they might be giving people a break on vehicle tax for now to help get the ball rolling but I doubt that'll last forever.
  11. Yes this annoys me too. Also, when I approach a crossing as a pedestrian, if I can see a break in the traffic coming up/just need to wait for a few cars to pass, I don't bother pressing the button I just wait briefly to save holding any of traffic up, but when I'm driving, even if I'm almost at the crossing and there's no-one behind me, someone about to cross will push the button and make me stop - very annoying. Very rarely do I receive the same benefit!
  12. If we get rid I don't think the compensation is too much to worry about. My understanding is that they would just stick him on gardening leave for the remainder of his contact, we wouldn't just give him £35 million. He can then choose to either keep getting paid by us but not take a new job for three and a half years or join another club and his contract with us is over. I think it's unlikely he'd want to be out of management for that long. With all that in mind we could offer him something like £5-10 million as a thanks for the good you did but time to call it a day, we cut ties and we can both just move on, it's either that or one of the above.

  16. I've just started watching this, it's awesome, and yes certainly makes me think about my approach to certain driving situations. The episodes are quite short so worth watching the first one to see what it's like. From the blurb I didn't really think it'd be my thing but gave it a try anyway and it took me by surprise how good it is.

  18. Your posts made me think of this...
  19. This is exactly it. Sometimes the first two words go well and I can get it in 3, however I don't tend to just use all the most obvious letters straight away as every day I just pick a random first word e.g. yacht or ovary. I enjoy it more this way and it's working out well for me:

  22. This is exactly how I approach it too although I'm averaging 4 with a decent amount of 3s. Here's my spread 20 days in which I'm happy with. Getting it in 3 can definitely be deduced if your first two attempts go alright although I tend to find that even through deduction there can be more than one possibility at that stage so still sometimes an element of luck. I'm finding that if it's 50/50, go with the least common word, which is what I should have done today! Also I like to change my first word every day to mix it up a bit and nearly always use a completely different word on my second go regardless of which letters I've got right on my first.
