  1. I thought Arteta might go after Jackson, he would be that stupid. Actually it could still happen, must be something written into his contract that he needs to buy Chelsea dross every season.
  2. The timing of his contract ending and the official charge days later bothers me.
  3. Hopefully not Madueke, what with him being s**t and all.
  4. Yes he perhaps isn’t as likeable, as Nadal or Federer. However, as the only one of the trio that have won every slam at least three times, you could argue he has the better all round game. If I needed someone to win some hypothetical match for my life, I would have to choose Djokovic!
  5. Can’t be many left from Thatcher’s senior ministers. Hurd and Major perhaps.
  6. Sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself. I lost my dear Mum in 2019 and I still find it difficult to process.
  7. Lucky lucky Sinner.
  8. I have not seen a lot of Sinner this tournament, but I assume he has a few more gears to go up, if Dimitrov starts to fade that is.
  9. He’s got de Minaur today and has of course beaten Sinner at two previous Wimbledons. If he does get past those two, whether or not he can make it third time lucky against Alcaraz(provided he gets there) should be interesting. He must know that it is going to end quite soon for him, as far as slams are concerned.
  10. I have seen most of these and from it would recommend Appolosa, Hostiles and Quigley Down Under, if only for Alan Rickman’s classic sardonic villain.
  11. Yes there was some damning evidence against her, so not surprised with the guilty verdict.
  12. Does no one feel that Djokovic has one more Wimbledon left in him?
  13. From a heart attack do you mean? Bound to have been featured on “Ripley’s believe it or not” at some time.
  14. Long way still to go for Alcaraz, but he is good enough to match Borg’s 5 Wimbledons achieved by the age of 24.
  15. Tell that to the dead one lying on the side of the kerb, that I saw when walking to the shops this afternoon.
  16. Even more reason the men should continue to play 5 sets in the slams, emphasising how special those tournaments are.
  17. Quality 5 set match. Well done Norrie.
  18. Someone coming back from two sets down, or two sets to one down is what makes five set play exciting. For many players it takes a set to just settle down and play their natural game. Three set play, even in the earlier rounds for me wouldn’t do justice to the competition.
  19. His next opponent de Minaur is the polar opposite, but I would still expect Djokovic to March on.
  20. Djokovic at 38 is unreal. Can see another final with Alcaraz, unless they meet before.
  21. We have our fair share of imbeciles.
  22. I wrote the comment below back in September. Now that he has been charged, let the courts get on with it. I assume there is still the presumption of innocent until proven guilty. Let’s ask Benjamin Mendy shall we. As for the club the timing does indeed stink.
  23. Another unhinged Trump speech, says he didn’t know the term ‘Shylock’ was anti-semitic! Amongst other nonsense says that because it didn’t rain on his military parade it’s another reason to dispute climate change. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-shylock-antisemitic-iowa-rally-b2782477.html
  24. Johanssen most probably, but Krajicek does not deserve that description. As well as winning Wimbledon and steam rolling a virtually unbeatable Sampras, he reached the semi finals of the Australian and French and quarters of the US in his career. He also held a positive win ratio against Sampras and I suspect few players achieved that.
  25. Hold on, Draper is only 23! Plenty of opportunities to come.
