Yes probably right. Draper had the impetus going into that 4th set, but never really looked comfortable. Cilic of course has always excelled on grass.
-
Draper on the comeback trail hopefully. Cilic’s ball toss is very irritating. It’s a two parter and seems to take ages.

Very sad news. He was clinical in the box and particularly good in the air.

Giroud played a dozen seasons in England and Italy and never scored more than 16 league goals in a season, so yes he was not prolific. He might score 4 in a row and then not score again for 15 games. He played more games for France than Henry, but they do have a similar goals per game record. So no ‘mad disrespect’, good player, but just not a top striker. -

One of the strangest careers ever. A striker, but never a prolific goalscorer, who played at some top clubs and won a ton of medals, but will imo never be considered a top player. -
I was n’t as invested emotionally in the characters this time around and not a particularly satisfying outcome.

Could not see this as a recent topic, so thought I would start this one, prompted by hearing this early noughties hit, Another Chance Roger Sanchez. Loads out there of course, but definitely one of my favourites! 0:23 the chorus of “I’d rather take a bath with Ainsley Harriott”.

Just found out that ex ITV News Presenter Sandy Gall died the other day. He had an amazing career in front line journalism and along with Reginald Bosanquet and Alastair Burnett were instrumental, in ensuring ITV were the premier news channel back in the 70’s and 80’s. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/jun/30/sandy-gall-obituary -
Incredible that the victim was born in 1892!
-
Yes apparently so! 😳
-
Yes I imagine you got a few brownie points for that! I remember the name of David Court and I just googled that he was born in Mitchum and my dear Mum was born in Carshalton, which was just down the road. Was your wife’s Dad from North London?

As a young child lived in Finsbury Park/Stoke Newington so thankfully nearer Highbury than Tottenham. Never really been that keen on the Gooner moniker, which has only really been in common usage since the 1980’s.

I’m in Yorkshire now. 🤣

Yet to see one, still red in our area.

Chelsea signing two strikers will probably mean Arteta making a ridiculous bid for Nicholas Jackson. -
Don’t think it’s supposed to be an actual excuse. “Elsewhere” is indeed the problem.

All liquid is good apparently and yes many old people swear by a nice cup of cha. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/cLTJfg3fS7DvYWNxTDSB0s/can-hot-drinks-cool-you-down -
UK a long way off from Trump’s 5% of GDP demand.

Yes agree that the school was culpable also. Some very odd decision making all round.

Definitely a good thing that more police officers are held to account. Until very recently they would have probably just got a ticking off. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce8zyjdj067o

I imagine he replaces Jorginho, as the back up to Zubimendi if he actually signs!
