Krcmar could play the main muscle of a Bond villain quite easily! As you say he’s a very decent darts player.

Tbf, Van De Bergh can be a bit cringe! Oh pity, it’s De Decker in for Huybrechts anyway. England should walk this, I could see Germany doing well. No MVG?
-
Thanks for the reminder! I quite like watching Belgium play as Huybrechts and Van den Bergh are very much the odd couple. I don't think Huybrechts likes him very much!

Cheers. I think the met police band finished playing at Highbury during the 80s. I first went regularly to Highbury from the mid 90’s, so did n’t get to see them. Still miss the old ground though, you must feel the same way about Filbert Street?

I got asked, rather rudely I thought the other day by someone on the football thread, what I as an Arsenal fan was doing on this site. I didn't provide a reply, but if I had it would have been because I like reading and sometimes contributing to the threads under the General Discussion banner. IMO they tend to be more interesting than the football threads. That is because for the main part, whilst people will of course disagree with each other, the tone is generally respectful. If someone for example on ‘the gooner’ disagreed with each other frequently one or both would be told to f**k off and die. The ‘mods’ tended to let a lot go! I hope the General News thread will be reinstated at some point.

I thought your reply a bit abstract, hence my question. Though there was a hit song “Living in a box” as I recall. I am clearly waffling now!
-
Is that a song title?

We couldn't afford potatoes let alone a gun to fire them out!

How do you pull someone trousers and pants down by accident?

For anyone interested in Japan, this is a fascinating insight into their unique justice system.

He has done really well at Brentford, but how much time will he get at Spurs if he does go there I wonder. Looking at their past managers, particularly since 2001 when Levy was made chairman, only three, Jol, Redknapp and Pochettino have lasted longer than two years. Levy has fired more than a dozen managers ( not including the stand ins) in that time. He will need to turn it around there quite quickly and maintain into that second season.

I don't think the IDF ‘do’ safety do they? At least they did n’t repeat their lethal 2010 assault on the Turkish aid ship.

Do you not understand the meaning of a title challenge? 23/24 went to the final game of the season, how often does that happen? Answer not very often. I can’t say I am particularly interested where Spurs or Utd finish up next season, but I can see at least half a dozen clubs finishing above them, so scrambling for 7th or 8th possibly. The only thing I can agree on is that this chat has got very monotonous and its over and out from me.

Do you really think by this stage Israel cares what the world thinks of them? I can’t imagine any such blowback hurting them, since they seem quite willing to weaponize food and starve a couple of million people in full glare of that world.

I thought Ranieri retired permanently?
Torquay Gunner replied to Sionnach gorm's topic in Leicester City Forum
I always liked him, even when he was at Chelsea. -
Did Matteo drag Chelsea down to 17th in the PL? I doubt if Del Bosque did anything like that either with Madrid. They were sacked because Chelsea used to replace their manager virtually every other season under the Russian and at Real Madrid De Bosque didn't really get on with Perez as President, so it had alot to do with politics.

What about the season before last, when Man City won the title in the last weekend of the season by 2 points. According to you that’s nowhere near winning a title? We did blow up at the end of 2022/23, when we led for most of that season, but once again that was a 2 horse race with Man Utd a distant 3rd. So do you think before last season Spurs and Utd were competing for the title? Here’s a quick look at their previous three seasons: 2021/22 Spurs were 4th, 2022/23 Spurs were 8th and 23/24 they were 5th. Man Utd were 6th in 2021/22, 3rd in 2022/23 and 8th in 2023/24. So ‘normal service’ next season would see them finishing 5th or 6th based on the three seasons before last. I would n’t call that competing for the title. I think you need to be doing me the favour.

When I see Arteta next I will pass this pearl of wisdom on.

The level of intelligence on display by this MAGA Illinois congresswoman is off the charts. Assume MAGA stands for make America garbage again.

He has been successful in making the club more competitive, you only have to look at our results against Man City and Liverpool over the last 2 seasons to see that improvement. Ultimately though only one club can win the league and that has n’t been Arsenal. However, there are a few of the so called “big clubs”, Spurs, Man Utd amongst them, that would be biting their hand off to be able to compete consistently at the top of the PL. Arteta, for me though has to take that final step next season, no excuses.
-
So why would they sack in your view a successful manager ie one who has enjoyed a “successful” season?
-
They sacked their manager, so of course not. Round and round we go.
-
Calmed down now have we? 😂

Take a chill pill. Blimey.
