There of course was always an element of that, see Fofana which just compounds things. But I'm sorry, you don't get rid of Rennie unless there is a MASSIVE disagreement in how things should be done. He was club furniture, and not only that, he had a great record with his low load high intensity methods.

I'm a big one on facts, but let's read between the lines here. We had a great injury record for years. Rodgers arrives and we start getting injuries. He gets rid of our long-standing physio with an exceptional record for us, blaming a change in how things are done... reverses said restructuring about 18 months later. Rodgers leaves and our injury record starts to improve.

Could be a (sand)storm coming our way.

The problem is stands full of people that have pretty much seen it all, young people barely getting a chance to go. Many are so used to success, they want a little bit more than that now. Greedy, entitled, call it what you will but I think that's fairly natural.

I’ve been fed up for years and was planning to sack it off whether we stayed up or went down. The decision was made before he became manager and I didn’t renew in the summer, but the games I have been to or seen, have left me feeling pretty much the same. That’s not all down to the football, I’m at a different point in life with a young family and a business to run. I’ve seen us win it all, so the appetite isn’t what it was. I’d need something that gets the blood pumping in terms of style to whet my appetite again I think. It’s no longer just about winning or supporting at any cost, I find that entertainment is now a massive factor, when in the past I just saw that as a bonus. Enzo has done a grand job and you won’t find me having a go at him about anything. Football in general, is just not for me at the moment. I’ll chat about it here or there, but I don’t really post much on here either any more.

The ground needs fresh blood so badly; the sooner we expand, the better because it's either that or a period of sustained absolute dross that will create space in the ground.

Bit harsh, we could conceivably just be lining up players in case we DID lose KDH or sold another player. Absolutely no point in waiting until the players leave to start arranging the other transfers so late in the window, they need to be ready to go.

Not sure about the thickest, we've certainly had more success and drama than a club our size could ever really expect. Most other teams will never even experience the sort of season we're having right now... where would it rank right now for us in the last 10 years? It's going to have an impact when you've experienced so much. I listed this a few years ago... we've already got a relegated and potential promotion to add on here. 1990–91 - Stayed up on the last game of the season 1991–92 - Play off final runner up from a dodgy penno (Wembley) 1992–93 - Play off final runner up from a dodgy penno, after coming from 3-0 down. (Wembley) 1993–94 - Promoted to the premier league through play off final (Wembley) 1994–95 - Relegated from the premier league 1995–96 - Promoted to the premier league through play off final last minute winner (Wembley) 1996–97 - Top 10 premier league finish and League Cup win (Wembley) 1997–98 - Top 10 premier league finish and Played in the Uefa Cup 1998–99 - Top 10 premier league finish and League Cup final (Wembley) 1999–2000 - Top 10 premier league finish and League Cup win (Wembley) 2000–01 - Played in the Uefa Cup 2001–02 - Relegated from the Premier League 2002–03 - Went into administration, finished 2nd and promoted to the premier league 2003–04 - Relegated from the premier league and La Manga "rape" episode. 2004–05 - Average 2005–06 - Average 2006–07 - Taken over by Mandaric 2007–08 - Relegated to League One 2008–09 - Promoted to the Championship as champions 2009–10 - Top 6 finish and play off semi final losers - Kermo penalty 2010–11 - Taken over by the Thais. Got rid of Pearson, got in Sousa and then sacked him and got Sven. 2011–12 - Sacked Sven and Brought Pearson back 2012–13 - Top 6 finish and play off semi final loss with most ridiculous penno miss and Deeney goal 2013–14 - Promoted to premier league as champions 2014–15 - Greatest escape of relegation ever and sacked the manager 2015–16 - Had a racist orgy, hired Ranieri won the premier league 2016–17 - Charity Shield Champions league quarter finalists whilst also flirting with relegation and sacking Ranieri. (Wembley) 2017–18 - Hired Shakespeare as manager, then sacked him and hired Puel 2018–19 - Sacked Puel, hired Rodgers and owner died in a helicopter crash. 2019-20 - Bottled a 700 point lead to finish outside top 4 2020-21 - Covid Party, Bottling 699 point lead, FA Cup Final.

I'm not criticising anyone, thinking he's worth that to us at this moment, at the end of the day any sale jeopardises promotion, which is worth far more. My only issue is that there are seemingly people who think the price of £40m reflects his ability, I don't think he's done anything to warrant that yet.

Some of the writing was the absolute pits. Walking to the Cafe where Catherine was, randomly walking out of the back door, down the street and just happening to find her glasses, and oh look they are towing a car away... lets just presume that's the car... yeah it is... how convenient.
-
I was just coming on here to mention the utterly needless mentioning and general slagging off of the RAF and the English. I think there must have been at least 4 occasions in two bloody episodes.
-
A bit like how Brighton's interest doesn't necessarily signal he's worth way more than £30m?
-
I don't think he's been any more than average in the premier league for us. Not just last season, but the season before also. And as for Brighton, they are meant to have bid £20m and don't fancy him at £30m, let alone thinking he's worth "way more than £30m". So those amazing recruiters seemingly agree with me.
-
Which would fall under twisting our arm to get it done, but people are going on like he's actually a £40m player.
-
Based on what? Other than twisting our arm to get it done. The guy has had a decent championship season and didn't exactly pull up that many trees in the premier league.
-
If we want the player, power is in their hands. Typical negotiation, agree a deal, drag it out and try and up your deal last minute when the other side have gone so deep in the deal it makes it hard to say no.
-
Eh… I’m talking about in the summer!
-
Sadly we don’t know that. I’d wager we absolutely had banked on getting rid of Praet, Daka, the Aussie centre back who has made such an impression I can’t remember him and probably one or two others to lose the wages.
-
I’ve not kept up with all the rules and punishments throughout the league etc. But you are right, at this stage the only way we sell is if we are going to be on the end of a punishment so severe it makes it stupid to not sell.
-
Well kind of helps to not be injured.
-
If you've had enough of a place, sometimes there isn't anything that can be done to turn around how you feel. I can only relate to my work life, and I've felt like that before. Injuries, we've got numerous players who have never got back to their best or still keep picking up injuries. Who knows what, if any, long-term damage was done?
-
Don't get the abuse, he didn't ask Rodgers and Congerton to sign him and then cast him aside almost instantly. Just another player to add to the long list that Rodgers demotivated, treated poorly, shoved out the door and wrecked with his cack methods. I can't blame anyone who played under that idiot and was treated like so many of them were, not giving two hoots and wanting to just get out of the place.
