Two different things. King Power are the ultimate power (no pun intended). It is they who lend money and right it off etc, they who own the ground through another company controlled by them K Power Holdings Company Ltd. Ultimately it's they who own the club. As the parent undertaking they will liekly hold the voting rights and the ability to remove the baord etc. Hence we don't really know what power or sway they exercise, if any. Before Vichai's death, it was never an issue. He's basically in total control of both, Top certainly isn't in control of both. "Leicester City Football Club Limited's immediate parent undertaking is King Power International Company LTD (KPI), a company incorporated in Thailand." http://story.kingpower.com/en/executives-en/

People want to look for an easy answer, or a boogie man. The reality is exceptionally complex, from the death of Vichai, to the ultimate power now being with his wife, and not Top (who knows what differences that made in terms of backing). To covid smashing the finances, and the powers that be at UEFA and the Premier league deciding to change FFP rules again. To the club (Top and KP ultimately) deciding to back Rodgers with money rather than sell an asset, which had been our MO for some time. Chuck in the training ground and ground expansion hoovering up money, hiring Rodger's mate as head of recruitment, to not sacking Rodger's early enough. All clubs facing a squeeze financially so that it makes it harder to shift players. To players now being so rich, they will happily just sit out contracts to get the moves (or money) they want. A load of things all added together that will then create other knock on problems. It's a swirling mess of issues, that no one person is to blame for, with many external factors playing a huge part. In terms of who is in charge, ultimately it's the KP board and Vichai's wife. We can't possibly know what influence, if any they have. What we do know is Top personally lent the club money out of his own pocket and not that of KP. So it does somewhat hint at a disconnect there in terms of appetite, but again we will likely never know unless someone breaks ranks.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

If I was a betting man, I'd say we make it... but there is going to be an argument again about what does and doesn't count. -

Plus Covid, I'd have to check, but I think that's in the calculations for one more yeear until 20/21 drops out? And Infrastruture, so loans to pay for Seagrave potentially out of the equation. -

That's absolute muck, you can write off plenty of the "losses" as not everything counts towards FFP. It's such a beyond-stupid calculation by them, entirely missing the basics of FFP. -

Well, kind of can, actually. The whole point was breaking FFP isn't a set points deduction. The amount you break it, and the way you break it entirely dictates the santion. That's not "whataboutery", it's a cold hard fact you and toddle off and read about. So the notion that we should have just spent a load of money, really is just making the problem worse isn't it. The cloth had to be cut. -

And this is your latest attempt at being wrong, at which you seem to excel. -

But that's exactly the point, yes it does. The worse the breach the worse the sanction, not only that to be seen to flagrantly break the rules in such a way would also lead to harsher sanctions. As for 1) We didn't spend to either not break FFP or to not break it by any more than we already were. And as for 3) We don't know that. -

How is it beyond belief? We got relegated, something that would never have been in the budget. -

Not sure spending money and breaking FFP by even more is the cunning plan you seem to think. Not only because Rodger's wasted a huge amount of money anyway, but we'd currently be sat in the permier league with a massive points penalty, that made Everton's pale into insignificance. -

Notably mostly from the people who declared the league as good as won and us uncatchable several months ago. -
Feels like Game of Thrones set in Japan (that's a compliment). Really good so far!

Quite often these things come from grants, that are an extra, on top of the usual funding they receive from the government. Same with all the bike lanes, we applied for a grant, so they spent it all. eg. https://news.leicester.gov.uk/news-articles/2023/january/400k-funding-boost-for-city-walking-and-cycling-schemes/. If we didn't get the grants, then they most likely wouldn't happen.

Many places no longer even accept PIP or DLA forms as evidence. They use a third party like NIMBUS, whom you have to submit evidence to, and they decide whether you warrant the discount or carer ticket. You may have come across it. I have numerous disabled (some severe and some not) family members, including my partner, and they certainly seem to be trying to reduce the numbers getting discounts and carer tickets. It's getting rarer that they accept any PIP letter as evidence.
-
Ha ha, you love piping up, I thought you'd skulked off after your LCFC trust nonsense. There are a huge amount of people not getting a discount on parking who probably need it. If crowds are an issue get there early, if distance is an issue, arrive early so you can get dropped off outside. There are numerous avenues to take personally here in terms of travel and parking before chucking it at the club and wanting them to sort it out. The club could certainly be more flexible in terms of tickets as a one-off, especially as I believe he said he's willing to pay. But I fully understand a long-term position of wanting evidence of disability. People can say "oh nobody would pretend to have x, y, z issue", but they do. People lie through their teeth for disability benefits, blue badges, discounts, etc. It would be lovely if there weren't unscrupulous t****** out there who would abuse it, but there are. You'd expect to be asked to provide evidence from most places, whether it's the cinema, or Alton Towers, so I expect little different here. Maybe that's just me, I don't view it as a special case over any other business, it's long been more about business than anything else. But even those companies, you'd like to think someone would pick it up and bend the rules a little for people, even if it's viewed as good PR!
-
It's not hard for them to say, at the very least... "on this occasion, we'll sort something out for you". I fully understand them not wanting to open the floodgates, so to speak; if there is an opportunity there to abuse the system, people WILL do it. But it would at least give you the opportunity to try it out and then buy a membership if he gets on ok.
-
Not sure what the problem is here, the ground is full of people with blue badges, disabilities, etc. It would be lovely to be able to accommodate everyone, but it's simply not possible.

Leeds United (A) 3-1 - Post-Match Thread
Babylon replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
What a weirdo, it's like us sitting here going on about how we'd be 17 points clear if N'didi didn't get injured. Or if we didn't sign Cannon on (01.09.2023) with a broken back. Or if Chelsea didn't recall Casadei. Of if we didn't sign our three actual wingers on 31.07.2023, 26.08.2023, 31.08.2023. -

First game for ages, trash!! Didn’t win me over. -
I appreciate that, but something has to give. And as usual those who plan and save get penalised. No matter what they do, people will lose out.
-
First thing is means testing everything. So many benefits are already means tested and yet others aren't. Should a deaf person (my partner is deaf so i'm using this example), get disability benefits if they have loads of money in the bank or earn a very good wage? This would impact me personally, and I think it's wrong that they do. And whilst everyone has paid in, should someone similarly with a huge personal pension pot, or with huge amounts of money in the bank a state pension? Rather than punish all, the first step should be focusing on those most in need.
-
Pretty obvious they started the workplace pensions being compulsory. They'll just keep dragging the date further back for those in their 40's and 50's, the rest will not get one.
