Very true, but having a player in any position that costs atleast a goal a game, in a low scoring team, is an issue. Just look at James Justin, he cost us endless points. I think his current form is as much an issue as anyone on the pitch.

I don't see that dropping him for a few games would achieve anything. Got to either drop him & get rid, or keep him in goal, grit your teeth, and hope its just a rough period of his development. With the alternatives available, and the lack of confidence i have in the club to make the right replacement, I am siding with the latter option. Needs to get a grip though because hes becoming a liability..

Yeah, perhaps so. Theres evidently a good player in there, but there seems to be zero development. In fact, hes probably regressed. He just persists with the same things that don't work week in week out. I think a large degree of it is how he's managed, but he has to take some responsibility himself Probably a player that would flourish at another club, but here I just find him incredibly hard to watch.

Not sure Fatawu is even Prem quality to be fair. The odd wonder goal aside, his overall play is honking.

No, im just one of the few who dare say it about him. Im sure plenty more feel the same, but find it easier to say nothing incase the usual mob pile on them all defensive. Been pretty poor for both goals..

No, just dont get defensive when someone offers their opinion. People defending Nelson like its their own son. Its a 21 year old man. I doubt he cares what people on a forum think, so not sure why so many wet wipes on here do.

Never suggested he shouldnt start, simply said that all of our defenders are as bad as each other and that if it was Vestergaard or Faes that got breezed past, there would be lots of comments. Your the one that got over defensive of a 21 year old man you don't even know.

He's shit, most people just say hes good on here because they think its the 'acceptable' thing. I've said it was a poor clearance by Okoli, but if the player breezed past Vestergaard or Faes like he did Nelson, there would be endless comments. You don't have to jump on the bandwagon, its okay to admit a players is just as bad as those around him.

I agree although it's hard to say for sure due to just how young he is. Does he show potential of a good player....yes... Has there actually been a time where anyone's watched him and thought he's had a great game? probably not. When you look past a few fancy tricks, he's not really done anything at all to merit regular game time. But, again, he's that young, his faults are to be expected. Hope he lives up to his potential, wherever that may be.

Honestly, of over 6,000 posts, there's not really many at all that criticise young players. I was critical of Kasey McAteer, because I genuinely couldn't understand how he was a professional footballer. Bar him, the only other time have criticised 'young' players was perhaps Nelson. The criticism of Nelson isn't because I think he's awful, In fact I was glad to see him in the line up, but it was aimed more at the fact he's been hyped up so much on here as future England star / Captain etc etc yet has looked average in my honest opinion. I've never said a bad word about Aluko, Silko Thomas, Louis Page, Monga or Evans all of whom are the same age / younger than Nelson. I am not Anti-Nelson, let me make that clear, but equally i am a pretty simple football fan. I judge what i see, i don't follow stats from previous clubs etc etc or percentages etc. Rightly or wrongly, that's just me. But equally, I am not a pundit spreading negativity world wide - I am just a bloke posting the odd opinion on a football forum - Take it with a pinch of salt. Perhaps looking back, I can see why you would form such an opinion, but honestly, I am not Anti-Youth and of course I want them to do well. Perhaps I am just a glass half empty kind of guy, and like I said above, I am not really a stat's man or someone that watches our Youth players when they are at other clubs etc etc. I just say what I think from what I see - Rightly or wrongly. You are suggesting I've binned Nelson off? I haven't, I wouldn't take him out of the starting line up, but equally I am more than happy calling out bad performances the same as I will any other player. Your right, KDH probably was written off by some, but equally there were probably the same people back then saying he will be future England captain after a couple of good games at Blackpool yet hes 27 now without a single England cap....obviously im just being pedantic there... But don't take every bit of criticism as writing a player off.

What, because i dare to be critical of a 21 year old man, yes that's right, man - not child. The same people harping on about how he should be captain and an England international after a half decent season at Oxford? Same people who harped on about Will Alves (who im sure will spend the remainder of his career in the lower leagues) despite the way he was spoken about on this forum. You might want to avoid offering any criticism as to avoid upsetting a certain gaggle of the forum, and thats fine, but other are quite happy to offer their honest opinions. FWIW I have never suggested he shouldn't play again, or be dropped, I have simply offered similar criticism to any other person in the squad and mocked some of the hype around someone who, in my opinion, hasnt been anything other than average at best.
