  1. Spurs could well be the club to watch here imo, especially if Maddison's injury is as bad as it appears.
  2. The £20m release clause was for Champions League qualified clubs only, but that clause didn't prohibit us from selling to a non-Champions League club like Chelsea. Chelsea got him for £32m, but that wasn't the best bid... https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/37479596/chelsea-make-move-sign-france-midfielder-ngolo-kante-leicester-reports The Daily Telegraph reports that the nature of the £20m release clause in Kante's contract still allows Leicester to sell to the highest bidder. Shanghai SIPG have submitted an offer of £35m but the player is not keen on a move to China, according to the Daily Mail.
  3. Sounds very Trumpian, but deadlines make deals. I still think he's likely to go, but wouldn't expect anything to happen until deadline day, or just before.
  4. Like Lineker back in the day... https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/history/player_details.php?pid=509 Everton forked out £800,000 for his services. Lineker was superb, in his first season he scored 30 league goals for the Toffees and also won both Player of the Year awards, but Everton could only finish second behind rivals Liverpool. His first appearance in a World Cup finals was soon to follow and it took him to the next level, netting a hat-trick against Poland in the 1986 competition and finishing top-scorer with six. His form on the international stage boosted his status worldwide and Barcelona, then managed by Terry Venables, took him to the Spanish league. The fee of £2.75m saw City take around £250,000 from a sell-on clause.
  5. The 500/200 was a great way to wrap it up. We need to start a new era. Besides, could well be that he's asking for silly money on a multi-year contract, and that's why he's still without a club.
  6. Played exclusively at CB last season for Montpellier but was predominantly a DM before that. Maybe the thinking is that she'll be a utility player that can replace both Howard and Takarada?
  7. https://the72.co.uk/2025/07/30/leicester-city-james-justin-leeds-united-transfer-interest/ It has been claimed by Leeds United News that Premier League new boys and last season’s Championship champions Leeds United are eyeing the Leicester City man. The Whites are claimed to be in the market for a full-back who can play on both the right and left, and Justin is an ideal fit. The report states that the long-serving LCFC man is atop of the list of full-back targets at Elland Road as they look to bring one in before the end of the summer transfer window. Justin is in the last year of his deal, and the Foxes need to raise funds.
  8. Tony Francis and John Sillett back in the studio?
  9. Mace is there and participating. Knee heavily strapped though...
  10. There's not been any pics of Eiriksdottir arriving, but maybe she got in before the photographer showed up.
  11. Cayman, Kees & Cain back in today...
  12. It kind of already is ruined. Certainly at club level anyway, with the same clubs dominating financially and hoarding all the talent.
  13. It says Monaco were 'hoping for a bidding war'. You've no evidence that one actually happened. Man U and Arsenal may have enquired about Tielemans but there's no evidence in there that either ever made an official bid.
  14. But clubs don't directly bid against each other like in an auction. Football just doesn't work like that. You either make an acceptable offer or you don't.
  15. Bidding wars don't really exist in football. Each interested club will have their own set valuation of what they think the player is worth and they'll simply move on to their next target if that is exceeded.
  16. I think the reason we had such a makeshift team was because we had played away at Man City less than 48 hours earlier, whereas Liverpool had had a week's rest because their previous game had been called off. Remarkable result considering.
  17. No, it wasn't. Amartey and Ndidi played at CB in that Liverpool game. Hamza played in midfield and was subbed off for Lookman on 56 mins, and Lookman scored the winner 3 minutes after coming on. https://fbref.com/en/matches/8ad7b26f/Leicester-City-Liverpool-December-28-2021-Premier-League Hamza did play CB against Watford in the Cup the following week. https://fbref.com/en/matches/fd2ca892/Leicester-City-Watford-January-8-2022-FA-Cup
  18. Their goalkeeper looks quite small in stature. Might work in our favour.
  19. Just need to stay in this until Kelly and Agyemang come on to pep us up.
  20. Torn to shreds there. Good goal.
  21. Ray French, 85. A distinctive voice that was part of the soundtrack of my youth. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/articles/c30z37z157jo
