I often think your backups should be one more experienced player (eg. Albrighton) and then the other a Youth prospect. The below looks pretty balanced with 2 good starters and then 2 good bench options. Fatawu / Mavididi / De Cordova Reid / Alves Also got Silko Thomas or McAteer as 5th choice as well

He’s not a LB tho. Is more of a CM/ CAM by trade I believe. Played more RB for Leeds last year because needs must, but shows his versatility. Agree that he will go far, looks a very promising player at 18. Surprised he’s leaving Leeds though, did you know both his Dad and Grandad played for Leeds

Only thing with Castledine is conscious not to block Alves development if they play similar positions and similar age. But Humphreys as a left footed CB would tick a box we desperately need. And having played a season in the championship already is probably closer to going straight into the first team squad.

They seem to have done quite a bit of work (Alves and Braybrooke) over the summer, and been on holiday together. Hopefully can hit the ground running this pre-season and play a part in the first team next year. Most exciting part of the Cooper appointment. They are our future!!!

Looks like Bologna are signing a new LB on a free from Betis - Juan Miranda. So looking less likely Kristiansen will end up there…

Who should we be looking at as a replacement? If we do play more of a 10 under Cooper? Alves seems a more natural 10 than anything else, but can’t pin all our hopes on him, could do with a starting creative player. Gronbaek (more of an 8)? Nanasi (more LW?) Ohare (is he good enough?) Szmodics (is he a natural fit?) Mcatee or Sara (expensive?)
