  1. Will be judged on actions not words. But acknowledging its currently broken is at least a start…
  2. Yeah was very rough maths based on automatics needing 2pts per game, playoffs needing 1.5 etc but didn’t factor in any points deduction I must admit!
  3. What’s his play style like? Is he an all action CM a bit like Jordan James? Or more of a 10 like an Aaron Ramsey alternative?
  4. This one starts a run of 11 games in 45 days through to the New Year! A game every 4 days, and a tough run at that, that will probably make or break our season. Stoke (H) 22-Nov Southampton (A) 25-Nov Sheff Utd (H) 29-Nov Derby (A) 06-Dec Bristol C (A) 10-Dec Ipswich (H) 13-Dec QPR (A) 20-Dec Watford (H) 26-Dec Derby (H) 29-Dec Sheff Utd (A) 01-Jan WBA (H) 05-Jan Very rough estimates of what we’d need: <10 pts and we’re in trouble 10-13 pts for survival 14-17 pts for midtable 18-22 pts for playoffs >22 pts for automatic push
  5. Honestly could get behind a squad like that so much more than the current lot. Stolarczyk / Vieites New RB / Aluko Nelson / Okoli Vestergaard / Souttar New LB / Thomas Skipp / Braybrooke James / Hamza / Cartwright New RW / BDCR Alves / Page Mavididi / Monga New ST / Evans / Hutchinson
  6. John Heitinga - because our previous Dutch manager went so well… Not done well at Ajax but would take him if he fancied it. Free agent and Wasserman client as well so you know, not sure how realistic he is though
  7. Take anything for him in January, including a loan just to get him gone. Don’t need to replace him. Move Hamza back to CM cover and promote Aluko to back up RB. Winks / Hamza James / Skipp Ramsey / Page
  8. 1) 14th in the Premier League 2) Aiyawatt yes. Ruskin no. 3) Jordan James, L Thomas, Cartwright, Aluko & Stolarczyk. 4) Nelson £30m 5) Motsi
  9. Up the Ben Nelson. Something at least
  10. Yeah probably to creat that box midfield everyone bangs on about. Just hope he doesn’t slow the game down too much and drop too deep. Hope with playing 2 up top our strikers won’t look quite so isolated! Winks - Soumaré Fatawu - James - Ayew - S Thomas Daka
  11. If the leaked lineup is correct, the one silver lining is Nelson getting a runout. In possession we have basically been building with a back three anyway with Ricardo/ Hamza tucking into midfield. However Faes and Thomas have been all over the shop either side of Vestergaard, and constantly caught out of position which has made us vulnerable to counter attacks. So the hope would be with a more solid/ rigid back three we will be better able to manage transitions. In possession I don’t think too much will actually change, Fatawu and S Thomas will hug the touchline and try and drag us up the pitch. So don’t hate the change in system, our full backs have arguably been our Achilles heel defensively this season. Only change I would have made to the below would be to play Ricardo in CM in place of Soumaré. But hope that back 3 gets a couple of games to see if they can form a decent partnership. Stolarczyk Nelson - Vestergaard - Okoli Winks Fatawu - James - Soumaré - S Thomas Daka - Ayew
  12. I hate it, but only semi realistic thing I could see Marti trying: 3-5-2. Let’s face it he’s not going to play any of the kids. BDCR and Fatawu as wing backs? Ricardo in midfield? Stolarczyk Okoli - Vestergaard - Faes Winks Fatawu - Ricardo - James - BDCR Daka - Ayew
  13. Play the kids, bin the mercenaries. Stolarczyk Ricardo - Okoli - Nelson - Aluko James - Hamza Fatawu - Briggs - Mavididi Hutchinson
  14. Without a recognised 10 would switch to 3-4-3 formation. Almost a shame Page and Evans are with the Eng u17 World Cup squad as would’ve liked to have included them in the matchday squad as well. Although will be a good experience for them, and hopefully Evans will be used in the squad when Daka goes off to AFCON. Stolarczyk Okoli - Vestergaard - Nelson Ricardo - Winks - James - Aluko Fatawu - Carranza - Mavididi
  15. The Sidnei Tavares Derby. Winnit
  16. Stolarczyk Ricardo - Okoli - Vestergaard - Aluko James - Winks Fatawu - Ramsey - Monga Ayew Begovic / Hamza / Nelson / Thomas / Skipp / Soumaré / Mavididi / Evans / Daka
  17. Okoli —> Faes Ramsey —> Soumare Carranza —> Daka
  18. Awful team. Awful performance. Sadly very predictable
  19. Hopefully Evans gets a chance when Daka goes off to AFCON
  20. This one really baffles me. Played as captain a few times in preseason, was given the number 4, has featured a lot from the social media admin. Is there some attitude problem we don’t know about? Or is he not all that? Has looked good whenever I’ve seen him for us/ Oxford (bar 45mins in the cup), and has had rave reviews. A real shame because he was the one I was most excited about and wanted us to build our team around him this year, come what may. But for the benefit of his career he really needs to leave us if this is how he’s treated.
  21. Love Jordan James as an 8, hate him as a 10. Has looked lost when he’s played there this season, and looked class alongside Winks. Don’t get it
  22. Use them or lose them. Wonder if Evans will be rewarded for signing his contract. Would like to see Page back in to replace injured BDCR. Stolarczyk Hamza - Okoli - Vestergaard - Thomas James - Winks Fatawu - Ramsey - Ayew Daka Begovic / Nelson / Ricardo / Skipp / Soumaré / Page / Monga / Evans / Carranza
  23. Genuinely think if Faes sticks his arm up to claim a goal kick instead of waggling his finger the pens not given. Think even the Swansea player was claiming a corner not a pen, poor decision from the ref.
  24. Stolarczyk Hamza - Nelson - Vestergaard - Thomas Winks - James BDCR - Page - Monga Carranza Begovic / Ricardo / Okoli / Kristiansen / Skipp / Fatawu / Mavididi / Ayew / Daka
  25. Fair point. Expect we might see a bit of rotation over the next three games. Away at WBA looks to be the harder of the 3 fixtures, so wouldn’t surprise me to see Marti stick with the same XI, with more changes midweek at home to Wrexham. Vs WBA (a) Stolarczyk; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Thomas; Winks, Soumaré; Fatawu, James, Mavididi; Ayew Vs Wrexham (h) Stolarczyk; Hamza, Okoli, Vestergaard, Thomas; Winks, James; BDCR, Page, Monga; Carranza
