    Sales can appear in this FY without the whole cost appearing in the buyers accounts in the same FY via amortisation, enables exactly this type of manoeuvring.

    Think that’s a retrospective conclusion, and one not necessarily indicative of the reason of his omission at the time. Lots of weirdness going on with Cags at the time.

    Very few teams have the luxury of leaving one of their best players out of the team on principle to be honest, but I do think player power has gone too far.

    Totally agree. These are the sort of (hopefully) realistic links with plenty of potential upside, and fishing in the ready made pool has rarely seen our best outcomes.
