In simple terms, this is true, in reality there is way more to what a squad cost means. Maybe we need a metric for a transfer's useful value, as the likes of Ward, Soumare, Kristensen, Souttar, Daka, these don't scream value to me, and these are about 100m of these expensive squads you refer too. You can respond by saying that overpaying and buying the wrong players is our fault and of course it is, but we bought them, they contribute to this most expensive championship squad. Basically the squads value is not the full story. (Just ask Leicester 2015/16)

Overpaying for crap does not make what you bought better. We overpaid for some non useful players, that’s why it’s the most expensive squad, not because it’s great. Teams is good, squad is average.

No chance this happens, as breaching and related punishments are under the remit of the competition organiser. The fact the EFL cannot place their punishment on us this season is a consequence of their rules. We have nothing to do with this ironically. Even using the EPL charge for next season or even previous seasons, they are not relevant as nothing in the their rules allow punitive measures to be delivered at will, they have to be applied in line with their rules, the following year , at least until the recent rule change, which cannot apply retrospectively or in year. I think.

Got to ease them in some time, don’t want any more walkers as there is just too much value in the home grown lads. Or even better they kick on and become regulars!

Is this true? That is quite something if so! The EPL is far more brand/money centric so it is unsurprising that those with the biggest following get the most air time. Even if it is totally disagreeable.

I don’t know if he can cut it, but I would have more faith (or hope perhaps) in his smarts (he is nothing like Maguire in that sense) than any other CBs we have. The fact Maguire still gets in a (admittedly, awful) Man Utd side does tend to suggest pace is not everything. Do good managers make players quicker or smarter? Pretty sure it’s more the latter. Not tied to Jannik, he can go. Just not sure in which direction people expect us to go if Jannik leaves, Enzo would get a direct replacement, surely?
