There’s absolutely no chance at all Rohl will take a role as assistant coach, not after two years plus as a head coach. Why take such a gamble? If Andrews was to get sacked, he could get sacked too and then tarnish his reputation. He will want a top job. The issue we’ve got is Sheffield Wednesday are being added with the compensation. If that’s been resolved that remains to be seen, but Rohl won’t be going Brentford as a number 2.

Are we though? And are Southampton and Ipswich better than us? I’d argue they aren’t, Ipswich looked shite when we played them on the final day, and their squad isn’t too dissimilar. We’ve got talent in the squad, yes it needs some work, but with someone like Rohl at the helm he would squeeze every bit of ability out of this group, and hopefully with good additions makes a force. Players will still want to come and play for us, and I believe this crop of academy players we have coming through will be the real difference maker. I’m for some reason optimistic about this season, I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a record breaker…..
