  1. No.
  2. He’s rehashing the summer news I think. I think if it’s Potter, then it’s already pretty much done. Probably hence the timing of Cooper’s boot.
  3. You can’t just make this assumption….. there may be a reason to why top has made the decision now. We all sit here and say that he should have done this two weeks ago, yes he should, however, Top isn’t solely the owner of this club, he is also running a large business along side this and his time is split between the two… Perhaps it was as simple as, he wanted to gauge the mood of the dressing room himself prior to making a decision. Also the potential target, I know the club have been sounding out potential replacements so potentially the prospected target has only just said yes to any propositions. The preferred method would have been to sack him two weeks ago and the new manager have two weeks to work with the team, but the world and football isn’t that simple.
  4. Cooper had an impossible job. It’s all well and good outsiders having an opinion, but they will never see the bigger picture. It’s rather unusual in this day and age for managers to be poached by other clubs, especially for us, it’s not happened for a long, long time. So straight away the circumstances are completely alien to this group of players. Ordinarily, managers leave because they’re not going very well, so when a new manager takes over, there can be a lift in the dressing room, be it temporary or long term. Enzo leaving I think is the first major hurdle Cooper had to overcome…. Enzo was loved by the players, they loved his meticulous attention to detail, and they loved his energy and attitude. He was all football, and the lads really embrace that. We seem to undervalue the job he did here, but the reality was the club was on its arse, and regardless of the supposed talent in the team, we were in danger of slipping into the black hole that is the football league. Enzo was able to completely turn that on its head. When he leaves, the next manager has a massive job on their hands, because Enzo is so well respected by the group, you need someone to come in and at least match that energy. Coopers appointment reflected the whole mood of the club, as far as we were concerned we were getting deducted points, which is always going to reduce the potential of getting a manager in able to match what Enzo did. Cooper was starting his managerial career here on a bike with no gears at the bottom of a mountain…… to be fair on him he never stood a chance. The players just never took to him, like I said he never lost the dressing room, because he never really had it….. it was an almost impossible job for him, but whilst we were still facing a points deduction it made sense….. he was appointed for damage limitation, and that’s very much how he operated, but I think the biggest problem for him was the players just didn’t buy into him, and that’s never going to be a base for success. Now the situation has changed, we need to ensure we get it right. Whether they decide it’s survival first, plan for the future later, or look to bring in a progressive forward thinking manager straight away, and risk it not working. What I will say is, I genuinely believe there’s enough in this team to survive, we’ve proven we can score goals, we just need someone to come in and ensure there’s a clear plan and method, and maximise the potential in the team.
  5. Worst kept secret in football!
  6. That was probably one of the most horrific evenings ever…..even a 90 year old Kanu got some game time…..
  7. To be fair, you don’t plan spontaneous trips to Copenhagen, even as footballers 😂
  8. This isn’t cricket. If this was last night it’s incredibly poor. Have a bit of respect for Steve, he may not have been the man for the job, but this is extremely poor from the lads.
  9. We don’t have the luxury of being picky. The squad is good in my opinion, but there are still gaps in it, gaps that Cooper failed to address. Moyes would do this, no he’s not sexy, but he is productive and he would likely stabilise the team and would keep us up. It’s very much a Puel style of appointment, I think he’s capable of building a good squad, and is a fairly safe pair of hands.
  10. He would be sensational for about three months. Then it would all go to shit 😂
  11. Who cares, I’m bothered about us, not them.
  12. Rudkin wouldn’t be sacked, he would just be promoted to another made up position in the club. No way they get rid of him.
  13. Isn’t Percy mates with Cooper?
  14. Would Vichai have done any different? Doubt it. Perhaps Top is starting to learn…..
  15. I knew about Winks. My mate told me Winks really was not happy at all playing under him. They had a few disagreements along the way, can’t have success if the players aren’t on board with you.
  16. You can’t Compare Moyes to Cooper…. Cooper is nowhere near the quality of coach Moyes is.
  17. I don’t entirely agree Finners…. Whereas Moyes isn’t a sexy appointment, I think he’s fairly safe. I think he definitely keeps us up…. We will probably play your strengths and see a more transitional based attack. But I think he sorts that defence out. He pragmatic, but he’s proven pragmatic unlike Cooper.
  18. Moyes keeps us up in my opinion. He’s not particularly exciting, but he is a safe pair of hands. And, I think he gets results on the board fairly quickly. He also will be respected by the players due to his longevity in the game. One of the struggling teams were going to take the gamble on him, and probably stay up. West Ham were even talking about going back in for him.
  19. Cop out answer. You said we’ve got the worse side in the league? And yet there’s teams below us…… so Southampton have a better squad than us?
  20. So what about the teams below us?
  21. Opinions like this are stupids though……. He was appointed in very different circumstances to now. The reality of the situation is, if we were not facing a potential points deduction after Enzo departed, Graham Potter would be the manager. Cooper was third choice, because of the circumstances we found ourselves in. That has since changed and the club have been proactive for once….
  22. I think it will be Potter.
  23. Okay Mrs. Cooper.
  24. His appointment made sense at the time, because we were somewhat of a lost cause given the potential points deductions, however, with that no longer being an issue the goalposts have moved. I do feel a bit sorry for him, but he just wasn’t the right fit, he clearly hadn’t got the lads on board, and you’re pissing into the wind if you haven’t at least got that. Genuinely wish him all the best going forward, I’m sure he will get another job better suited for him.
  25. My mate thinks Martin is going to be sacked too, and Southampton have RVN top of their list. We will go back for Potter…..
