The irony is, there’s nothing remotely sustainable about the FFP regs. Across all of the EFL how many teams are on the brink of disaster? Reading are looking down a barrel of a gun, Derby were very close to not existing anymore, Wigan have become nothing as have Bolton and Portsmouth wallowing in obscurity too. There’s actually nothing remotely sustainable at all. I think our case is too complex for them to issue a points deduction, either way we could probably appeal it and likely win. They set a precedent by docking points of Everton, but then completely undermined the process by giving them 6 points back. That had made a complete mockery of the whole process. If we were given a points deduction next season, it’s likely to be 10 points, we would appeal it, and I’m almost certain it would be reduced. Because we’ve got more mitigating factors that Forest and Everton put together, both surviving at our expense and we sold a key player. I can’t see the PL being successful with any sanctions. But it makes me wonder if Sky have purposely reported the storey in the way that they have in an attempt to derail our season and add to the drama. Sky have made this appear a bigger issue than it is.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

No way they can do that. Totally illegal process if they do I’m sure of it . -
And this on a nutshell is why FFP has failing. It’s going to cause the collapse of the PL on my opinion. I’m convinced elite football is heading for a world wide NFL style league akin to PES pro leagues….. and the domestic leagues will be left in ruin. Football is a game for the super rich now, clubs are becoming robotic play things for Sultans and multi billionaires. The very origins of the game are long forgotten about, the reason we all fell in love with it, gone. Im just glad that we’re in the history books for smashing the elitism within the game, it’s probably caused it’s downfall, but we’re the football anarchists.

It’s key to point out we’re not alone….. There’s suggestions that 12 teams have all breached…… everyone is in the same boat. No one is spending any money at all, so we’re not going to be the only ones to be punished. -
It just seems like a really unfair way of doing it. If you’re relegated, then for me the EPL shouldn’t be allowed to touch you during your stay in the EFL. The whole thing is farcical. I’m pretty sure every team from 8th down will beach FFP over the next few years, because the net spend in the PL has been wild up until Everton got punished. They simply have to change the rules, because if 10 or so teams breach FFP, then clearly the system isn’t fit for purpose.

How can we get punished for the 22/23 accounts when half of the 23 financial year was spent in the championship? Of course there’s going to be losses, that’s a pretty big mitigation, relegation….. surely that’s not a fair process to be punished? Any money spent in the off season will be attributed to the championship, so, surely there’s a grey area there because the EFL can punish us because half of 23 was spent in the PL, and likewise with the PL. Like I said yesterday Everton had their punishment reduced, and their breach was blatant, came with a warning and they haven’t been relegated. There’s literally nothing to worry about in my opinion, relegation could well save us from any punishment, because it simply wouldn’t be fair to if either the EPL or EFL punished us because we would have a massive mitigation that any reviewing panel would support. Nothing will happen, just a lot of clubs will be pissed off, and it could see the collapse of FFP.

Football in essence is truly ****ed, and it needs to be gripped internally in order to prevent it from worsening….. but, the sickening reality of of it is, the corruption that binds the premier league together is far more powerful than we can imagine. Just look at the people now investing into the league, the gulf nations are desperate to take it to their lands, and now the Americans are joining in too. The financial gain generated from our overseas relatives will be the catalyst driving this football machine forward. The future of the game is inevitable, eventually a collaboration of the worlds “best” teams will ultimately come together to battle it out in their own inclusive league, and the rest of us will just be cast aside. It will happen, football will just become Americanised but at an international level, and PES pro leagues will become a reality. The EPL themselves are fools, because they will play along with it until they’re part of a messy divorce where the “big six” all disappear leaving them to pick up the pieces.

Exactly this. People need to look at Everton as a measuring stick, they’ve blatantly broken the rules… despite numerous warnings from the EPL, and they’ve got a poxy 6 pint deduction…… We tried our hardest to curb our spending and ultimately got relegated. If Everton and Forest have mitigations, than we will most definitely have mitigations.. As @Ric Flair stated, the whole thing is going to collapse, because all that will end up happening is clubs will start throwing other clubs under the bus, and eventually every club will end up breaching FFP. What needs to happen, is all 20 PL clubs state in a meeting that they won’t comply with the rules, and surely then it’s ****ed? They can’t punish 20 clubs.
-
@Babylon will likely know….. but just because of this news today, it doesn’t automatically mean we’re trying to hide something as a club or we’re trying to buy some extra time because we’ve failed to comply. As a business, if there’s a loophole that would benefit you, you take it surely? That’s what rights and entitlements are for, and If legally the EFL have no stance on it, then it should be utilised. If they decide to change their rules as a result, so be it…. It’s more a problem for them anyway as it’s their regulations and their lack of foresight . But, from what’s been said, why should our accounts be scrutinised by the EFL when we’ve just spent so many seasons in the PL, surely it isn’t fair? Is there a grace period? Do you get time to adjust to the championship because you’re going to be coming down with a massive outgoing if you’re an established PL club surely?

The fact he’s dropped straight outside of the team when Kelch is back? I mean…. Not a great sign is it.
