  1. I said at the start of the season that he was going to be the main choice due to his abilities on the ball. The system suits him down to the ground. But, the most impressive thing is that all of those fears we had about him with his lack of pace, have all been dismissed. He’s been Susan perb.
  2. Fantastic performance. By far the better team and looked every bit a P/L side. Hopefully acts as a confidence boost for the rest of the season.
  3. ****ing twatted that one.
  4. In your defence, I don’t think you expected it come after the capitulation that was Leeds.
  5. That will do, **** this off and focus on QPR.
  6. It’s not no, a few people have suggested we should go all out to potentially possibly play Cov in the next round. It definitely wasn’t you.
  7. Great pod yet again. @Ric Flair hit the nail on the head. This is no longer about how talented we are, it’s about fight. We’ve got 12 scraps coming up, and it’s going to tell us a lot about this teams mental resolve.
  8. If you think going all out tonight to potentially play against Coventry is a good idea, you’re ****ing mental.
  9. Can you imagine sacrificing an automatic promotion place because you “went for it” in a competition you’re not even going to win?
  10. Situations dictate your approach to the cup. If we field our strongest 11, and lose Winks and Ricardo for the rest of the season, we’re screwed. Had we been 12 points clear, the game may have been viewed differently, but you have to put sentiments aside in situations like ours, we can’t afford to take a risk in the FA cup, just to satisfy the fans love affair for it. I’d love to have a proper go at Bournemouth, but given the last two results, we simply can’t do anything that will compromise our league position, we can’t afford to screw this up, the immediate future of this club depends on promotion. Get the job done, and think about this next season.
  11. We won’t lose again this season.
  12. We will beat these and then draw Man City in the next round at home.
  13. “Gaffa, why are you picking me? I’m fit”
  14. 99.9% of the initial posts on here including my own were born out of sheer frustration. Technically despite what sky will say, we’re technically the best team that’s ever played in this league. We’ve bought a Phoenix to a pigeon race…. The painful thing is we really should have been out of distance by the time they equalised…. Leeds being one of the leagues better sides will go for the jugular if given a chance, which we gave them. It hurts because we all want to be the best, we want to break Reading’s record, we want to be the best team that’s ever been in this league, and we want to win another trophy, trophy’s at any level mean success… Despite the doom, I still think we will win the league, and we can still break Readings record but would need a near perfect record, which we’re capable of. It would be a desperate shame not to do something great, because we’ve by and large been excellent, and it would somewhat water down how good we’ve been. However, despite what a lot of people have suggested, I think it bodes well going forward, because it’s clear Maresca has got what it takes to assemble a squad capable of competing in the PL. Forget this now, move on, we’ve got 12 games to amass as many points as we can, and maybe take a PL scalp along the way.
  15. Doesn’t help when you work with a Leeds fan and two forest fans and are just getting pelters all day….
  16. We’re technically brilliant, but we’re soft.
  17. This really needs to stop. Surely last season is enough to indicate this. People need reminding we played alright for 70 odd minutes, but lost a crucial game….. it’s still a defeat regardless of how we played…… and that habit can stick.
  18. I think the best way to describe the situation is. The defeat hasn’t derailed us, but it has made a comfortable situation uncomfortable. Leeds have managed to close in to within arms reach and applied pressure to us that we haven’t really had all season. Despite the doom and gloom, it is still in our hands (sorry not sorry) and a couple of wins maintains the distance from Leeds. We do however need to have a collective sit down and a talk, because it really isn’t great to collapse so easily to your closest rival.
  19. Slightly different slant on it….. Do we really want to win at a canter? Because will that then give the board an excuse not to properly invest?
  20. We need some leadership from somewhere. I got laughed at when I said this, but isn’t this why we signed Coady? We could probably do with him on the pitch to be honest.
  21. Last night we missed the opportunity to seal it. A win would have more or less meant that was it. It would have proven that we’re the best team and would have put a big enough gap between us and Leeds to get the job done. Now, it’s let Leeds and Southampton back in. It’s also going to undoubtedly put pressure on the players, the heat has been turned up a notch and the neck tied and collars loosened. It would be wrong of us to sit here and just wave this off as another “bad day at the office”. Yesterday highlighted fundamental issues in the squad, a complete lack of leadership, and an inability to deal with sustained pressure against the better opponents. Our biggest problem is that it proves to the rest of the league were beatable, we’ve got to play teams scrapping for survival and for play off places. So, I would suggest now we’re vulnerable to slipping up. But, it’s down to the reaction, Bournemouth could be a get out of jail free card, somehow find a result in that game, and it could be the shot of adrenaline we need to then go on a title winning run.

    Daka

Cannon has to start. He’s the best striker at the club behind Vardy. Daka’s not got the mentality to play against certain styles of play, when a team is aggressive and applies their aggression properly he can’t handle it. He was embarrassing yesterday, running around like a headless chicken, and then couldn’t finish a chance put on a plate for him. I’ve had enough of him, bin.
  23. I don’t want to jump all over Enzo, and I know people will say the league position (albeit now under serious threat), negates any negativity, but…… his style of play against better opponents seems to expose our weaknesses somewhat. As a few have said, apply a bit of meaningful pressure and we fall apart.
  24. He needs a ****ing eye test.
  25. Sky get what they wanted. On a serious note that was seriously bad. Pawson made some poor decisions, VAR wasn’t available so we can’t blame that. What we can say is at 1-0 we had CLEAR chances to bury the game and didn’t. Mavididi, Daka and Fatawu all disgraceful tonight, some absolutely dreadful misses that would have sealed the points. We’re our own worst enemy, we lost this game today. Leeds weren’t that great, but you knew if they got one back it would be game over, and they would eventually win. It’a a honking result, we’ve been getting carried away talking about record points and being the “outstanding team” in the division. Yet, we’ve failed to over come our closest competition, dropping points against Ipswich and Leeds. It’s not a champions mentality. Im certain we won’t win the league, but we’ve sure as hell got to spurt ourselves out and make sure we finish second, we can’t afford to drop into the play offs. Deeply sickening and disappointing day. But somehow one I felt in my gut was coming. Our only hope is this doesn’t kill the lads confidence and completely derail us.
