It is a situation as simple as score the goals and we win the games. When we score, we win…. When you look at the Boro game in its entirety it wasn’t actually that bad…. The fact they scored late on with an absolute world beater doesn’t tell the whole story. We missed plenty of clear cut chances, and this is something we’ve got to remedy…. I’ve got a good feeling about Cannon, I don’t know why because I don’t know much about him, but he looked pretty decent in front of goal whilst at Preston…. We need the two high 8’s to be more clinical and a striker that’s going to average a goal at least every other game, then we will be laughing. Defensively we’re fine, it’s just the attack that’s hindering us at the moment.

This is the major underlying issue…. And I think this is where Enzo’s lack of experience may come to bite him. Burnley are to be used as a prime example…. Look at how they’re struggling and are looking likely to go down. Arteta is somewhat lucky that he’s got money to spend, because Arsenal are tickling the rim of the title, but are still haven’t been able to get close to City. We’ve got away with it so far largely because of the quality in the squad. We could blow this league apart, but we’re playing for a system, and not to the strengths of the players. It’s clear they like Enzo and his methods, but the last two games are concerning. I’m not going to jump all over Enzo just yet, but there’s a real unknown about him, and we must be cautious going forward. I can’t help but have this uneasy feeling about this situation, I’m still not confident going into games, and still feel a bit disconnected from the club…. Part of me is concerned this is a false dawn, and the whole thing will just self implode over the coming months.

Stiff test for Willy, he’s seemingly flopped.

Spot on I’d say.
-
Pretty much exactly what I would have said!

I think you’re right. Lose to Watford and it could start a complete meltdown. This team is just as capable of a spectacular collapse as they are a spectacular success. The Brendan Rodgers brand is still under the new foundations.

Because in reality that doesn’t really work anymore…. It’s an outdated tactic that relies on you having a big physical squad, which we don’t. Modern day football is plan A to Z…. The only gripe I’ve got with Enzo in this system is we aren’t utilising our key players properly, they’re being sacrificed for the system. We have the two best full backs in the league and they’re out of position. KDH isn’t a high 8, he’s been struggling no end recently, we don’t have another proper 8, although N’didi is doing fairly well in that role. The system would work better if the right players played in those positions, and we just haven’t been clinical enough recently. Were just generally soft, it’s a theme that I think has been present for most of the season so far, but we’ve got away with it through the quality we have, but we still have a soft underbelly and when the going gets tough we need to be able to show resilience. Lets hope Enzo can get stuck into them again and hopefully we will have a few players back after the break that can really help us.

Pivotal moment in the season. We will start to see what Enzo is made of…. Will we get back on the horse or will we crash and burn? It literally could go either way, I have no idea what to expect over the next few weeks.
-
Jesus…. Absolutely not. It would be an unmitigated disaster if we failed to go up, and financially would probably destroy us. My expectations are we win every game from now on in, even if we go up and it’s not better than Reading, I won’t be satisfied. I’ll just be glad we’re out of the is god forsaken shit fest of a football league.
-
With regards to next season, we don’t need to worry. If and it’s now an IF we do go up, we will get a nice little financial bump. Plus there’s a fair few players on loan, so we won’t really need to worry all to much about selling as we will have a near clean slate to work with. I wouldn’t be at all worried because it would be another summer of wholesale changes more than likely. I’d imagine we would end up with a whole new defence, and attack…. There’s not many players who I think will be good enough to play in the premier league so I’d expect a busy summer.

Still fuming. And I’m getting angrier. Shouldn’t be losing games like this.

I think Leeds will eventually win it, we’ve just got to hope Ipswich to eventually fall off. Our start may have been a peak to soon scenario, because lately we’ve looked completely blunt going forward. Agree there will be lots of twists and turns, but I am bitterly disappointed in our last two games, a proper opportunity to pull away to a potentially unreachable distance, but I think that opportunity has now gone, and we’ve been reeled back in somewhat. On paper this is the best team this league has ever seen, but I just think Enzo’s vision is not getting the best out of our top players.
-
If anyone else says “no plan b” again they should be banned this system is both plan A and plan B…… the whole point is that it’s a flexible system. The problem is, we’re not clinical enough, and teams are realising this and no longer sitting off us. Enzo has some thinking to do, because the attack is currently garbage, only Abdul has really shown anything recently and even he isn’t really that productive. Enzo has got to think about what he’s asking of the players, because at the moment it’s not getting the best out of them. We’ve got the two best full backs in the league, and they’re playing at CB and CM. It’s all well and good trying to play a certain way, but when you’re restricting your key players best traits you’ll be restricting the team.
-
Very disappointing. Another frustrating defeat, and we really should not be losing to Boro….. some work for Enzo to do now to stop this becoming a problem.
-
I don’t rate him. Said all along I’ve had concerns about him, he’s a bang average player who occasionally comes up with something. Overall, not good enough on my opinion.
-
KDH has been crap for most of the season, let’s be fair….
-
Absolute toss this. I think Enzo needs to be willing to consider a more conventional approach from time to time.
-
Looking better now I’ve drunk some water!
-
I think it’s a lame way of describing someone who’s quick, but not explosively quick if that makes sense? Kacey seems to be quick after he’s gotten into his stride.
-
I was going to say, Kacey is deceptively quick!
-
McAteer as an 8 and Ricardo as a winger?
-
Ah, that’s the lad I must have spotted then! Wondered who it was. Love how Enzo seems to want to give the youth a chance!
-
It’s a huge game. Boro are decent in this moment, and will probably feel confident. I think the Leeds defeat could have more of an impact than some think. Few have boo-boo’d it’s significance, but to lose to a rival, as poorly as we did without looking a threat will tickle the ego somewhat and could play on some of the lads minds. So, this is an important test to see how we are mentally. I want to see more from those high 8’s, few personnel changes hopefully Yunus is fit.

Geno Smith had an absolute mare today. Hawks absolutely bummed by the ravens! Who are looking pretty handy themselves.
